Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu limped the small blind and called when Jonathan Depa raised to 180,000 in the big blind.

Daniel Negreanu: {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Jonathan Depa: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

A Chop and Some Chips for Kornuth

Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Chance Kornuth led the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop for 200,000 in the big blind and Emmanuel Sebag in the cutoff raised to 500,000 for Kornuth to call. On the {k-Diamonds} turn, both checked and Kornuth bet the {j-Hearts} river for 100,000. Sebag called with the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and chopped as Kornuth tabled the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Kornuth then won a small pot when he made aces full of sixes on the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board to chip up.

Redraw of the Final Two Tables

Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Nearly the entire level 22 remains to be played and the new seat assignments and updated counts of the final 16 players can be found below. Gregory Shuda has dropped to a shorter stack after he invested a big portion of his stack with aces and a nut flush blocker, which he folded to the shove of Emmanuel Sebag just before the final two tables were set.

Christopher Trang Eliminated in 17th Place ($57,738)

Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Christopher Trang
Christopher Trang

The far shortest stack of the remaining 17 players got his last few blinds in and that happened to be Christopher Trang. He was looked up by Ben Lamb on the secondary outer table and Lamb was aiming to recover some losses after a horrendous recent run.

Christopher Trang: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Ben Lamb: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The aces prevailed on a board of {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} as Lamb made trips eights with his kicker. Trang had to settle for 17th place and a payday of $57,738 to set up the two table redraw of the last 16 players.

Arieh Gets Full Value From Lamb

Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Ben Lamb defended the big blind against a raise by Josh Arieh and subsequently check-called three bets on a board of {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

The final bet was worth 900,000 and that sent Lamb into the tank. He invested two time banks and eventually called to get shown {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} for the nut flush by Arieh.

Hubbard Goes Runner-Runner to Double

Nível 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Stephen Hubbard
Stephen Hubbard

Stephen Hubbard limped in middle position, Aaron Mermelstein limped in on the button, and Jonas Kronwitter raised to 250,000 in the small blind. Hubbard then jammed for 785,000, Mermelstein folded, and Kronwitter called.

Stephen Hubbard: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Jonas Kronwitter: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop left Hubbard in rough shape, although the {q-Spades} turn gave him some hope, and the {q-Diamonds} hit the river to give Hubbard the best hand and keep his tournament life alive.

"Yes! I'm the greatest!" yelled Hubbard as he found an unlikely double.

Back to the Drawing Board for Kornuth

Nível 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Chance Kornuth defended the big blind and then led the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{a-Spades} turn before leading the pot on the {7-Clubs} river. Fabian Brandes called all-in for 1,020,000 and Kornuth flashed a {a-Hearts}{7-}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Brandes had the nuts with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for quads sixes and scored the full double up, nearly evening out the stacks.

"It was worth a try," Kornuth said with a grin on the face before then adding "back to the drawing board."

Lamb Suffers Another Setback as Li Doubles

Nível 23 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Over on the second outer table, Ben Lamb was not too pleased after his move on a board of {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts} was paid off by Tong Li, who doubled for around 900,000 when all the action was completed. Lamb tabled the {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a pair of aces with the nut flush blocker and a missed wheel draw.

Li, however, had the best of it with the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a flush to the queen and surpassed Lamb on the leaderboard.
