Canadian pro Xuan Liu has just been eliminated by the hands of Dave 'DevilFish' Ulliot. We ran into Liu who was making her way out of the tournament area and she told us the following.
With just under 4.000 chips remaining she decided to shove from the button when Ulliot had made a raise from the cut off. De Brit called with pocket sixes and managed to beat Liu who was holding a pair of queens. On to the next one for Liu who's going to be playing in the €1.000 No Limit Hold'em tournament that's starting tomorrow.
November Nine finalist Anton Makiievskyi was doing good in the beginning but ended up not making the second break. After the break Tyler Kenney took the seat of the Ukrainian while Scott Seiver moved into Ruben Visser's spot. To add some more madness to the mix Mike McDonald sat down in the six seat while Sorel Mizzi has been sitting here since the start of the day. To give a better perspective of the situation here's what the table looks like.
Sam Trickett has just been eliminated by his Titan Poker stable mate after three-barrelling into the open arms of Marvin Rettenmaier.
There was a pre flop raise from the cut-off and Trickett (button) and Rettenmaier (big blind) both called. The board ran out and Rettenmaier check-called three streets, including an all-in shove on the river, while holding and Trickett had for the missed draw.
A whole lot of new names made their way into Majestic 2 but we've also lost a few. Aaron Jones busted and Tom Dwan is among the players that already got moved to the main area.
James Bord raised to 350 from under the gun and Brian Powell defended his big blind. The flop came down and Powell checked to Bord who bet 400. Back to Powell and he check-raised to 1,100 giving the former WSOPE Main Event winner a decision. Bord decided to make it 2,500 and after a bit of Hollywood Powell moved all-in and Bord called and he was in bad shape. The turn and river bricked for Bord and he was eliminated. Interestingly Powell was also on that WSOPE ME final table last year finishing in 8th place.
The two people seemingly in charge over at table five are former EPT Barcelona champion Kent Lundmark and Pierre Husson.
Husson raised to 250 in the cut-off and Lundmark made it 700 from the button. The big blind cold called and after asking to see both players stacks Husson made the call.
Flop:
The action checked around to Lundmakr who bet 1,250 and it won the pot.
