Over at the feature table news emanates out that Phil Ivey has been eliminated at the hands of Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. We believe Ivey open shoved for a little over 200,000 holding and Negreanu woke up with . The board held true for the Canadian and the dangerous Ivey is out.
Justin Bonomo raised to 27,000 in middle position, Vanessa Selbst moves all-in from the hijack seat before Dan Shak four-bets to 400,000 from the cutoff. Back to Bonomo and he takes his time before moving all-in. Shak folds pocket jacks, face up, and it's a good fold.
Bonomo
Selbst
Board:
Selbst is out in 19th place and Bonomo is looking in great shape on 1,200,000
Will Molson has just had a fatal clash with Team PokerStars Pro Betrand "ElkY" Grospellier. Molson, who has seemingly been card dead, for a very long time eventually found a hand worth playing for stacks but ElkY had one a little bit better in an all-in pre flop encounter.
ElkY
Molson
Board:
ElkY now has 650,000 and Molson has a big hole in his pocket where €100,000 used to sit.
We caught the action on the flop but are led to believe that Dan Shak opened from the hijack seat and Sam Chartier called in the big blind. The flop contained more clubs than a Neanderthal's kitchen cupboard - - and all hell broke loose. Chartier moved in with the check-raise for 110,000, Shak moved all-in for 516,000 and Chartier called.
"You have a flush?" Shak asked.
Chartier did indeed have a flush and Shak had some catching up to do.
Shak
Chartier
Turn:
Shak hits a higher flush and needs to fade the straight flush outs to double up.
River:
Shak had momentarily vanished (he didn't want to look) but is called back to meet and greet his new 1,000,000 stack.
Patrik Antonius raised to 20,000 under the gun and Vanessa Selbst moved all-in for 240,000 in the cutoff. Antonius showed the tv cameras his hand before sticking them in the muck.
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier raised to 20,000 from under the gun before Sorel Mizzi reraised all in for 180,000 from the hijack seat. Anton Allemann reraised all in from the small blind for over 600,000 and everyone folded.
Allemann:
Mizzi:
The flop came down and put Mizzi in front. He stayed there after the landed on the turn, but the on the river gave the win to Allemann and sent Mizzi out the door.
From the hijack seat, Patrik Antonius raised to 22,000. Action then folded to Dan Shak in the big blind and he reraised to 80,000 with a little bit under 600,000 behind. Antonius took some time, then moved a tall stack of red T25,000 chips into the middle. The bet was enough to put Shak all in. After some thinking, Shak folded and Antonius moved to 900,000.
