Madsen Takes One

Nível 3 : 75/150, 50 ante

Pot-Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Jeff Madsen was facing off against one opponent after the third draw. There was already roughly 6,000 in the pot. The player checked to him. Madsen put out a bet of 5,400 which was enough to put his opponent all in and the player was in the tank. As the player was thinking, Eric Wasserson, who was also at the table, called the clock.

The floor staff came over and began the countdown at 30 seconds. As the floor reached seven, the player folded and Madsen took down the pot, allowing him to increase his stack.

O'Hara Crushing

Ian O'Hara

Pot-Limit Omaha

Ian O'Hara might not be a name recognized by most of the poker community yet, but he's off to a hot start today in Event #59: $2,500 Big Bet Mix, having already doubled his starting stack.

In a recent hand, a player opened under the gun to 250. O'Hara called on the button. Brian Rast called from the small blind and the big blind called as well. Action checked to O'Hara on the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and he bet 1,075. The big blind reraised to 3,475. O'Hara plopped in a stack of chips and the big blind moved all in. O'Hara called.

O'Hara: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Big blind: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and that left the big blind drawing to just one out to make a royal flush, but the {3-Diamonds} river would lock up the pot for O'Hara.

O'Hara has already cashed five times this series, bringing home some profit in Events #54, #47, #43, 339, and #20, and with a hot start today, he may be able to lock up a sixth cash in this event as well.

Jon Turner On the Rise

Nível 3 : 75/150, 50 ante

No-Limit 5 Card Draw

Jon Turner raised to 450. The other players all folded and he showed {5-}{5-}{7-}{7-}{8-}.

In the very next hand, Turner raised to 450 again. He got two callers: the button and the big blind. The big blind drew one, as did Turner. The button drew three.

It checked around and Turner won with two pairs again with {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

Can You Call the Clock on a Muck?

Nível 2 : 50/100, 25 ante

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Andrew Kelsall raised from under the gun. In the hijack seat, David "ODB" Baker made it 750. Action folded back around to Kelsall and he called.

Kelsall stood pat. Baker thought for a while, then stood pat as well. Both players then checked it down.

"Ten-nine," Kelsall said. He showed {10-}{9-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

Baker lifted up his cards and looked through them for a bit, flicked them a couples times, then shuffled them around.

"Can you call the clock on a muck?" Chance Kornuth asked, joking.

Baker finally put his hand down and mucked it.

"I was just kidding," Kornuth said. "You weren't taking that long. But I did ask that seriously to Hellmuth once and he lost it."

The table had a laugh.

"I had ten nine eight three deuce," Baker told Robert Mizrachi. "I didn't know if I wanted to break and draw to a nine eight or not."

Rast Can't Get a Bluff Through

Nível 2 : 50/100, 25 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Ian O'hara opened with a raise to 250 from the cutoff. On the button, Brian Rast made it 750. Action folded back to O'hara who called.

The flop was {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and O'hara checked over to Rast. Rast made it 900 and O'hara called.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {A-Clubs} on the river. O'hara checked a third time. Rast though for a while, then put out a bet of 1,600. O'hara called quickly.

Rast showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, playing the board, but O'hara showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for a better two pairs, and he took down the pot.
