Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw

Dia 3 Começado

Vieira in the Mix Chasing Third Bracelet

Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

The third and final day in Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw at the 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas sees 19 players return from an original field of 353, all chasing the $181,978 top prize and WSOP gold bracelet.

Nick Pupillo (1,505,000) leads the way heading into Day 3 and is in a good position to try and capture his first bracelet. Victory is no guarantee, however, as accomplished Japanese player Tomomitsu Ono (1,235,000) sits second in chips, not far behind Pupillo. As if that were not enough competition, two time bracelet winner and Portugal's all time money leader Joao Vieira (1,040,000) rounds out the top three and will certainly be looking to add to his already impressive tournament resumé.

Robert Mizrachi opened on the button and then called off for the remainder of his chips after Nicholas Marsico three-bet out of the big blind.

Marsico stood pat on all three draws while Mizrachi took two on the first and second draws and one on the final draw. Marsico then tabled K863 while Mizrachi showed down 32A. The at risk player would need to find a spade on his final card to double and survive but instead turned over the J to send him to the payout desk in 17th place.

Ono Gets There Against Vieira

Nível 21

2-7 Triple Draw

Tomomitsu Ono raised in the hijack and Vieira raised in the cutoff, which led to the betting getting capped between the two players.

Ono drew one and Vieira stayed pat which saw Ono check-call a bet from Vieira.

The exact same drawing and betting happened on the following draw.

After the final draw, Ono looked at his new card and led out, which had Vieira sighing as he looked at his opponent. After a little bit of time he put in the call and Ono said "wheel," before turning over 75432 for number one and he took a bite out of the chip leader.
