Brewer Folds Twice

Nível 17 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a battle of the blinds the {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} turn brought a bet worth 105,000 by Chris Brewer and Nick Schulman called. They headed to the {10-Clubs} river on which Brewer checked. Schulman now bet 200,000 and the fold of Brewer followed.

One hand later, Brewer limped the button, Schulman filled up and Daniel Negreanu checked his option in the big blind. The {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} river was checked to Brewer and he bet 15,000. Schulman called and Negreanu then check-raised to 60,000 in order to force two folds.

Zinno Chips Up Before Dinner

Nível 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Anthony Zinno won the last hand of Razz when he forced a fold from Nick Schulman on seventh street with the low runout showing. The game type then switched and Daniel Negreanu won two pots without showdown.

Last but not least, Matt Glantz limped in the small blind and Zinno min-raised to 24,000 for Glantz to call. Both checked on the {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop and Glantz bet the {10-Diamonds} turn for 23,000 in an attempt to get rid of his last yellow chips before the race off. They checked the {k-Hearts} river and Glantz announced ace-ten, which Zinno had beat with the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

"Is That a Boat?"

Nível 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Razz

Josh Arieh's surge continued recently in a pot with Robert Campbell.

Campbell completed on third street showing an {a-}, and Arieh made it two bets to go with a {5-}. Campbell called and they went heads-up to fourth street.

Arieh bet fourth and fifth streets, then check-called a bet from Campbell on sixth as their boards read,

Josh Arieh: {x-}{x-}/{5-}{2-}{k-}{9-}
Robert Campbell: {x-}{x-}/{a-}{4-}{4-}{3-}

Finally on seventh, Arieh check-called one more bet from Campbell, who showed {3-}{3-}{9-}.

With the overhead lights glaring onto the cards, Arieh couldn't immediately see Campbell's holding from across the table and asked, "Is that a boat?"

Indeed it was, as Campbell's bluff had failed.

Arieh apologized and ensured he wasn't slow-rolling Campbell as he turned up {a-}{7-}{9-} for a final hand of {9-}{7-}{5-}{2-}{a-}, to take the pot and boost his stack over two million.

Elezra Calls Down Cates and Wins

Nível 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Seven Card Stud

Eli Elezra: {x-}{x-} / {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} / {x-}
Dan Cates: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades} / {x-}

Eli Elezra bet on fourth as Dan Cates check-called and then Cates bet all the way on every further street. Once Elezra called on seventh, Cates conceded "you win" without showinw his cards.

Elezra tabled the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Cates was somewhat befuddled to have been called down by just a pair of eights.

Schulman Continues to Surge

Nick Schulman

No-Limit Hold'em

Two players who not long ago were nursing short stacks have solidly rebuilt to the point where they could start blasting away at each other in a big bet game.

On a turn board of {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts}, Chris Brewer led into Nick Schulman with a roughly pot-sized bet of 75,000. Shulman responded with a raise to 330,000. Brewer had a little over 800,000 behind and gave his next move some thought before ultimately folding.

Schulman's over 1.3 million chip stack is now one of the largest in the room with 15 players left.
