Ryan Leng Leads Final Ten Players in Poker Players Championship

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ryan Leng
Ryan Leng

Just ten players remain, with Ryan Leng taking a solid chip lead into Day 4 of Event #60: $50,000 Poker Players Championship.
Leng will bring 4,500,000 chips into Wednesday’s action, with Josh Arieh the only other player over three million (3,025,000).

Those ten players are all in the money, following a nearly 90-minute bubble that ran through the dinner break before Robert Campbell was finally eliminated by Leng to give the final ten a guaranteed min-cash of $82,623.

Day 2 chip leader Paul Volpe is among those who will return Wednesday after he bagged 900,000 chips. Dan Cates is also solidly in the mix with 2,310,000 chips.

Those that missed the money included Adam Friedman, Alex Livingston, and Christopher Vitch who each entered the day with top five chip stacks. $25,000 HORSE champion Jesse Klein fell two spots before the bubble, and current WSOP Player of the Year leader, Anthony Zinno was also eliminated just before the bubble.

Daniel Negreanu managed to survive and make the money after suffering a brutal cooler versus Chris Brewer that made him the short stack on the bubble. “Kid Poker” then managed to run his stack up to 780,000 by night’s end, keeping him in contention Wednesday.

The final ten players will return to the Amazon room at 2:00 pm local time to play down to the final five for the official streamed final table. The players will have a day off Thursday, before the final table is played out on Friday, where they’ll play for the top prize of $954,020.

Campbell Eliminated on Bubble by Leng

Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

Razz

Robert Campbell got his last 130,000 chips in on third street versus Ryan Leng, and it was a very fair fight to start, as both players held premium starting hands. Campbell started with {6-}{5-}{3-}, while Leng held {7-}{6-}{4-}.

By sixth street, Campbell was ahead with a made nine-six, while Leng had paired twice, but had plenty of outs with {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}.

On seventh street, Campbell improved to {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{a-}, but Leng turned over his river card quickly and slid a {5-} into his holding to make a winning {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}, eliminating Campbell and bursting the bubble.

The final 10 players are all now guaranteed $82,623

Arieh Wins, So Does His Team

Nível 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Proudly sporting his Atlanta Braves cap today, Josh Arieh just won a big triple draw pot to boost his stack among the chip leaders.

Arieh raised in early position and got called by Mike Wattel on the button and Robert Campbell in the big blind.

Campbell drew two, Arieh drew one and Wattel drew one.

Campbell then checked to Arieh who bet and got called by Wattel, before Campbell came in with the check-raise, which both his opponents called.

On the second draw, Campbell and Arieh both patted, while Wattel still needed two. Campbell bet and Arieh raised, eliciting a fold from Wattel before Campbell called.

Both players remained pat, and Campbell then check-called a bet from Arieh who tossed forward a wheel to drag a huge pot.

Shortly after, Arieh watched the final out of the World Series as his team wrapped up the championship.

A pretty good few minutes for the Atlanta native.

No Miracle Comeback for Friedman

Nível 16 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Limit Hold'em

Adam Friedman raised from under the gun and Roman Yitzhaki three-bet on the button, Yuval Bronshtein called in the big blind and Friedman called. On the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop, Bronshtein checked and Friedman bet to receive two callers.

The {6-Clubs} turn brought another check by Bronshtein and Friedman bet with 8,000 behind. Yitzhaki raised and Bronshtein made it three bets. Friedman was pained, then laughed, and needed some time to make a decision.

"Just throw your hand in the garbage bin right there," Eli Elezra joked. Friedman then folded and Yitzhaki called. The {10-Spades} river brought a bet of Bronshtein and a fold frm Yitzhaki.

"Show at least one," Friedman demanded from his table neighbour and Bronshtein replied "I show, no worries, don't want you to get a heart attack" before flipping over {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the nuts.

"They will never hear the end of it if I come back from 8,000 chips and win this," Friedman said as he was forced all-in from the big blind in the next hand. Paul Volpe limped the button, Bronshtein folded {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} in the small blind and Friedman kept his cards face down, which everyone agreed to.

Volpe's {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} were exposed and he flopped broadway on the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board. "Let's see if I can at least chop this," Friedman said with a grin on the face, exposed {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and left with a "thank god I didn't see this."
