A Bigger and Better GGPoker WSOP Online Event #15 Heads Up Championship Kicks Off at 5 p.m. GMT

Earlier this week, the original cap of 128 players for the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online was reached for Event #15: $10,000 Heads Up NLH Championship, and it was decided to increase the maximum number of entrants to 256. This means that if there fewer players than the cap, some players will receive a bye into the next round.

Back in 2020, David Peters won Event #54: $10,000 Heads Up No Limit Hold'em Championship for $360,480 while GGPoker Ambassador Fedor Holz won Event #79: $25,000 Heads Up for $1,077,025. They both won their second WSOP bracelets with these victories. They've both entered the field again today so can either of them do it again?

The heads-up tournament will be the only one on GGPoker where every player will be playing with their real name showing on the software instead of possible nicknames. A tournament bracket is scheduled to be set about an hour in advance which will be posted once PokerNews receives this.

Anatoly Filatov, Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand Grospellier, Mikhail Shalamov, Andy Tsai, Felipe Ramos, Tsugunari Toma, and Dan Bilzerian are also representing the GGPoker brand while Friends of GG like Mario Mosboeck, Daniel Dvoress, Niklas Astedt, Roman Emelyanov, Manig Loeser, Rainer Kempe, Max Kruse, and Wiktor Malinowski are in the mix too.

When the players start their heads-up matches, they will get 100,000 to play with. The blinds have been reduced compared to last year as the level duration goes from 10 minutes each for the first six levels to 8 minutes for the next six to then last 6 minutes each until each match is over.

With shorter levels, the action will for sure be fast-paced and exciting and as the PokerNews live reporting team will be here from the first raise until the semi-finals have been reached, make sure to follow along to see who will get there in the end.
