Hands #192-196: Antonios Opening Up a Big Lead

Nível 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Hand #192: Michael Tran opened for 27,000 from the button and Steven Zhou called from the small blind. The {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop saw Zhou check-call a bet of 24,000 and then both players checked the {3-Clubs} turn as well as the {K-Clubs} river. Tran showed the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Zhou mucked.

Hand #193: Zhou raised to 26,000 on the button and won the pot.

Hand #194: Alex Antonios limped the button, Tran did the same from the small blind, and Zhou exercised his option from the big with a raise to 37,000. Only Antonios called and then both players checked the {7-Spades}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop. Zhou check-called a bet of 46,000 on the {5-Diamonds} turn, and then he check-called one of 140,000 on the {9-Clubs} river. Antonios tabled the {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a set, and Zhou mucked. Zhou then claimed to have flopped two pair.

Hand #195: Zhou raised to 26,000 from the small blind, Antonios called from the big, and the flop fell {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Zhou bet 28,000 and Antonios folded.

Hand #196: Zhou raised to 30,000 on the button, Tran called from the big blind, and then both players checked the {10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop. Tran proceeded to check-call a bet of 47,000 on the {2-Clubs} turn before both players returned to checking on the {3-Hearts} river.

Zhou showed the {3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for two pair, but it was inferior to the {10-Hearts}{j-Spades} two pair of Tran.

Hands #188-191: Tran Crippled; Doubles

Nível 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Hand #188: Alexander Antonios raised to 26,000 from the button and Michael Tran three-bet to 81,000. Steven Zhou asked for a count of the stack of Antonios and then folded his big blind. Antonios called and they checked the {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts} flop.

After the {Q-Diamonds} turn, Tran check-called a bet of 56,000 and the {9-Diamonds} fell on the river. Antonios bet 125,000 and Tran only had about 200,000 behind. He gave it a lot of thought before calling and Antonios showed {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} for a set of aces as winning hand.

Hand #189: Tran raised to 24,000 from the button and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #190: The action folded to Antonios in the small blind and he open-shoved into the big blind of Tran. The latter mucked his cards.

Hand #191: Tran raised to 32,000 from the small blind and Zhou called out of the big blind to see the {J-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} flop. Tran moved all in for 51,000 after the action got checked to him and Zhou called off.

Zhou: {10-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}
Tran: {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}

Middle pair versus open ended straight draw. Tran needed to catch the straight after the {7-Hearts} turn improved Zhou's hand to two pair and sure enough the {K-Clubs} fell on the river to let Tran's rail erupt.

Hands #180-184: Zhou Remains Very Active

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #180: Alexander Antonios limped from the button, Michael Tran called from the small blind and Steven Zhou raised to 45,000 out of the big blind. Only Antonios called to see the {6-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {7-Clubs} flop, where both players checked. On the {K-Spades} turn, Zhou fired 53,000 and Antonios called before the {8-Clubs} on the river was checked around. Zhou showed {A-Hearts} {3-Spades} for ace high and Antonios won the pot with {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}.

Hand #181: Tran raised to 22,000 from the button and claimed the blinds and antes.

Hand #182: Antonios raised to 23,000 out of the small blind and Tran called. Antonios bet 24,000 on the {K-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {4-Hearts} flop and then gave up the {Q-Spades} turn by check-folding to a bet of 36,000 from Tran.

Hand #183: Antonios limped the button, Zhou raised to 22,000 and got called. On the {4-Clubs} 3d] {5-Hearts} flop, Zhou won the hand with a bet of 23,000.

Hand #184: Zhou made it 25,000 from the small blind and Antonios called. The {3-Spades} {8-Clubs} {A-Spades} flop triggered the continuation bet of Zhou for 36,000 and that was enough to claim the pot.

Hands #178-179: Tran Now on the Short Stack

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Michael Tran
Michael Tran

Hand #178: Alex Antonios limped the button, Michael Tran did the same from the small blind, and Steven Zhou checked his option to make it a family pot to the {8-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop, which they all checked. When the {9-Spades} appeared on the turn, Tran checked, Zhou bet 11,000, and Antonios folded. Tran called and then both players returned to checking on the {5-Clubs} river. Tran showed the {q-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Zhou mucked.

Hand #179: Tran raised to 21,000 from the button and then called when Zhou, who seems to be the only player willing to reraise, three-bet to 45,000 from the small blind. Both players checked the {5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and then Zhou bet 33,000 on the {9-Spades} turn. Tran raised to 83,000, Zhou called, and the {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Zhou announced that he was all in, and Tran, who had 280,000 or so back, thought for about 40 seconds before giving it up.

Hands #173-177: Big Pot for Zhou

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #173: Michael Tran raised to 23,000 and Steven Zhou called from the small blind, Alexander Antonios folded from the big blind. On the {5-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} flop, Tran made the continuation bet for 23,000 and Zhou quickly check-folded.

Hand #174: Zhou raised to 20,000 and Tran called to see the heads-up flop of {J-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}. Tran check-raised from 22,000 to 70,000 and Zhou quickly called. Tran fired the {3-Diamonds} turn for 105,000 and another snap-call followed. The {3-Diamonds} on the river slowed down the action and both checked. Tran showed {A-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} but his six-high flush was no good against the {J-Spades} {9-Diamonds} of Zhou.

Hand #175: Zhou raised from the button and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #176: Zhou raised to 25,000 from the small blind and put up his hand for Antonios to high-five after a possible fold by his opponent like they had already done quite often. Antonios had other plans and tossed in the extra chips. On the {5-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {8-Clubs} flop, Zhou check-folded to a 27,000 bet of Antonios.

Hand #177: Antonios limped from the small blind and Tran checked. The {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} flop saw Antonios bet 16,000 and Tran folded seven-high.

Hands #167-172: Lots of Raise and Takes

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #167: Michael Tran raised to 17,000 on the button and Alex Antonios called from the big blind. Antonios then check-folded to a bet of 26,000.

Hand #168: Steven Zhou raised to 20,000 on the button and won the pot.

Hand #169: Antonios raised to 23,000 on the button and won the pot.

Hand #170: Tran raised to 23,000 on the button then folded when Zhou three-bet to 75,000. It was a rare three-bet at this final table, and of course Zhou showed the goods with the {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

Hand #171: Tan received a walk.

Hand #172: Antonios rased to 23,000 on the button and won the pot.

Hands #162-166: Antonios Finds a Double

Nível 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #162: Steven Zhou raised to 25,000 from the button and both his opponents threw their cards into the muck.

Hand #163: Alexander Antonios made it 23,000 to go from the button and Michael Tran carefully counted out some chips before raising. Zhou and Antonios immediately released their cards.

Hand #164: Tran raised to 20,000 from the button and Antonios called out of the big blind. The {6-Hearts} {5-Spades} {10-Hearts} flop was checked by both and Antonios bet 26,000 on the {2-Hearts} turn. Tran called before they checked again on the {A-Spades} river. Antonios showed {4-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} and it took them a while to realize the split pot versus the {5-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} of Tran.

Hand #165: Zhou raised to 23,000 and found no resistance.

Hand #166: Antonios raised to 23,000 and Tran three-bet to 65,000 from the small blind, Zhou folded the big blind. On the {3-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} flop both players checked. The {9-Spades} turn saw Antonios bet 57,000 after Tran checked to him and he snap-called the all in of Tran.

Tran: {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}
Antonios: {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts}

Only one of the two remaining two jacks in the deck would avoid a setback for Tran, but the {5-Hearts} on the river evened out the stacks once again.
