Will Phil Hellmuth Capture His Record 14th Bracelet Today?

Yesterday, Phil Hellmuth, the World Series of Poker's most decorated player, notched his 108th WSOP cash and 51st WSOP final table here in the WSOP APAC Event #7 AU$2,200 Six-Max No-Limit Hold'em. Now, the 1989 WSOP Main Event champ has a chance as his record 14th gold bracelet and looks to become just the third player to win gold bracelets in the US, Europe, and Australia, the others being Daniel Negreanu and Jeff Lisandro.
Thanks to busting out Kris Nestorovic in seventh place, Hellmuth will take 266,500 in chips into Day 3. While that's technically fifth on the leader board out of the final six players, the top five stacks are separated by less than 50,000 in chips, as the top stack has 315,000.
Steven Zhou will begin the day as chip leader, but Alexander Antonios (278,000), Michael Tran (274,000), and Yu Kurita (269,500) sit between him and Hellmuth. Kurita has become the first female player to reach a WSOP Asia-Pacific final table, and she's got just as good a chance as any to grab the gold.
Rounding out the final table with 65,000 in chips is none other 2014 WSOP November Niner Bruno Politano. The Brazilian, who is the only November Niner to make the trip to the land down under, is the short stack, and that's somewhat fitting as he will also be the short stack when the WSOP Main Event reconvenes in November. Obviously he's proving it was no fluke when he made the November Nine.

Hand #1: Steven Zhou raised to 10,000 from the button and took down the blinds and antes.
Hand #2: Phil Hellmuth raised to 8,000 on the button, Alexander Antonios called from the small blind, and Michael Tran came along from the big to make it three-way action to the 
flop. Two checks saw Hellmuth continue for 20,000, only Antonios called, and then both players checked the 
turn. When the 
completed the board on the river, Antonius led out for 38,500 and Hellmuth folded.
Hand #3: Bruno Politano opened for 8,000 under the gun and Yu Kurita defended her big blind. Kurita then check-called a bet of 12,500 on the 
flop before both players checked the turn. When the 
completed the board on the river, Kurita checked and then snap-folded when Politano moved all in.
Hand #4: Antonios raised to 6,500 from the cutoff and won the pot.
Hand #5: Antonios raised to 6,000 from the hijack and Politano called from the small blind. Both players checked the 
flop, and then Antonios called a bet of 11,500 on the 
turn. Politano then check-folded to a bet of 19,000 on the river.

Hand #6: Michael Tran opened the action with a raise to 7,000 and only Steven Zhou in the small blind called to see the flop of 
. Zhou check-folded to a continuation bet of 7,500 and Tran raked in the pot.
Hand #7: Bruno Politano made it 8,000 to go and the action folded to Phil Hellmuth. "How much you got there, Bruno?" he asked. The November Niner from Brazil counted his stack and Hellmuth then three-bet to 30,000.
All other players folded and Politano moved all in for around 75,000 in chips. Hellmuth called immediately and it was the classic coin flip.

There was no help yet on the flop, but the 13 time bracelet winner spiked the 
on the turn to improve. Politano now needed one of the two remaining queens in the deck to avoid elimination, but the 
on the river was a brick. They shook hands and Politano joined the rail.

Hands #8-12: Hellmuth Launches Into a Tantrum

Hand #8: Yu Kurita raised to 7,500 under the gun and won the pot.
Hand #9: Phil Hellmuth raised to 11,000 from the cutoff and then called when Alex Antonios three-bet to 28,500 from the button. Hellmuth checked the 
flop, but then woke up with a check-raise to 50,000 after Antonios bet 23,500. Antonios made the call and then called a big bet of 77,000 from Hellmuth on the 
turn. Both players followed that up by checking the 
river.
Hellmuth tabled the 
, but it was no good as Antonios had turned a pair with the 
. Hellmuth shot out of his chair in disbelief, claiming that he'd been studying his opponent for days and was waiting for such a spot.
"It doesn't make sense to me. How bad can you play?" Hellmuth said while chastising Antonios for calling his check-raise on the flop. This type of banter continued for the better part of five minutes.
Hand #10: Three players saw a flop of 
and Steven Zhou checked from the big blind. Antonios bet 8,500 from the cutoff, Michael Tran folded from the button, and Zhou called. When the 
appeared on the turn, Zhou bet 20,000, Tran called, and the completed the board on the river.
Zhou check-called a bet of 28,500 but mucked when Antonios tabled the for two pair.
Hand #11: Zhou raised to 7,000 from the small blind and Hellmuth folded the big.
Hand #12: Zhou raised to 7,000 from the button, Antonios called from the big blind, and it was heads-up action to the 
flop. Antonios checked and then folded when Zhou bet 7,500.

Hand #21: Phil Hellmuth defended his big blind against a raise of Tran and bet the 
flop for 8,000. Tran raised to 18,000 and Hellmuth folded.
Hand #22: Antonios received a walk in the big blind.
Hand #23: Steven Zhou raised to 10,000 and claimed the blinds and antes.
Hand #24: Hellmuth raised to 10,000 and Tran called to see the heads-up flop of 
. Tran check-called a bet of 15,000 and both checked through the on the turn. The completed the board on the river and Tran check-folded when Hellmuth made it 14,000 to go with about 74,000 behind.
