Norway's Stig Moen Gets Lucky to Stay Alive

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Thomas Lefort raised to 3,600 from middle position and the player on the button called. Norway's Stig Moen then three-bet all in for 8,800 from the small blind, both his opponents called, and the flop came down {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Both players checked, and then Lefort check-called a bet of 8,600 from his opponent on the button when the {9-Hearts} appeared on the turn. When the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river, Lefort checked for a third time and then folded to a bet of 11,500.

The player on the button showed the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}, but Moen had gotten lucky on the turn to make two pair with the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Ship the triple to Moen.

Prize pool information is to follow shortly.

Richard Seymour Takes on 2010 PCA Champ

Richard Seymour

Harrison Gimbel, who won the 2010 PCA for $2.2 million, opened for 3,200 from middle position and Richard Seymour defended from the small blind. The player in the big came along, and three players saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Two checks opened the door for Gimbel to continue for 3,600, and only Seymour called to see the {2-Diamonds} turn. Both players checked, the {A-Hearts} completed the board on the river, and Seymour bet 5,200. Gimbel folded and Seymour flashed him pocket tens.

Allen Kessler vs. Vanessa Selbst

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The board was {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} with about 45,000 in the pot already. Vanessa Selbst was first to act and she checked to Allen Kessler. Kessler checked back and the two of them went to the river.

The {4-Hearts} completed the board and Selbst looked over at Kessler and checked again. Kessler immediately reached into his stack and bet 16,000.

Selbst readjusted herself in her seat and took a moment to think about her options. Eventually, she called.

Kessler tabled {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a full house, nines full of threes. Selbst released her hand, sending the chips Kessler's way.

Ramos is Down But Not Out

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Several players are looking short-stacked compared to the field but have been grinding that short-stack for a while and comfortable with it. Maria Ho (57,000), Morris Dadoun (18,000), Vanessa Selbst (45,000) and Daniel Negreanu (43,200) are all looking for a way back above average.

However, when you've had a big chip-stack and a series of hands eat away at it, dragging it back down to average, it can hurt more. Felipe Ramos was up to around 175,000 a short while ago, but he has less than half that currently, after losing the latest hand he played.

With a pot of around 11,000, the flop came {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}, and Ramos bet 11,000 to match it. His only opponent called and they went to a turn of {Q-Spades}, which Ramos bet again, this time to 16,300. Again, a very quick call. The river of {4-Diamonds} prompted a check from Ramos, and also from his opponent. Ramos could only turn over {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, not good enough to beat his opponent's pocket jacks.

Daniel Negreanu vs. Mohsin Charania

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu raised to 3,500 from early position and Govert Metaal called. When action reached Mohsin Charania in the cutoff, he three-bet it to 10,500, which Negreanu called. Metaal got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {6-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop.

Negreanu checked, Charania continued for 6,500, and Negreanu check-raised to 19,000. Charania called and then both players checked the {7-Hearts} turn.

When the {10-Spades} completed the board on the river, Negreanu checked yet again and Charania fired out 27,500. Negreanu, who was enjoying a massage, gave it some thought but ultimately released his hand.

Mizrachi Eliminated

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Ryan Riess told us that his former neighbor Robert Mizrachi had just been eliminated in a big blind versus button situation. According to Riess, Mizrachi got it all in from the big blind with {8-}{8-} up against the {A-}{Q-} of the initial raiser on the button. Mizrachi would not survive the encounter, down and out for the only Mizrachi brother playing this event.
