Nível 15 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Troy Quenneville
Troy Quenneville

The $5,300 MILLIONS Main Event at the Caribbean Poker Party Festival drew a total of 1,061 entries and 521 took chips out of the bag at the start of Day 2, but only 222 are still in contention at the conclusion of play seven levels later. Leading the way is the defending champion Troy Quenneville with 19,065,000, and not far behind are Kevin Rivest (14,745,000) and Francois Billard (11,790,000). A total of 111 places will be paid with a mincash good for $10,000 and the eventual champion taking home $1,000,000.

Alongside the current chip leaders, quite a few familiar faces will return for Day 3 action. Among them are partypoker Chairman Mike Sexton (4,635,000), three-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos (2,550,000), 2014 Main Event Champion Martin Jacobson (1,990,000), and partypoker Sponsored Pros Padraig Parkinson (7,915,000), Richard Dubini (7,255,000), Jan-Peter Jachtmann (2,755,000), Roberto Romanello (2,100,000), Johnny Lodden (1,970,000), and partypoker Ambassador Joao Simao with 4,965,000.

Unfortunately, not all the fan favorites who took to the felt for Day 2 action survived to the day's end. Among the fallen are 2013 Main Event Champion Ryan Riess, three-time bracelet winner Benny Glaser, Bryn Kenney, Mike Leah, Jonathan Little, Stefan Schillhabel, and partypoker Sponsored Pros Kristen Bicknell and Natalia Breviglieri.

Action is scheduled to resume at noon local time on Thursday for Day 3. Be sure to check back here for continuing coverage of the $5,300 Main Event and the remainder of the Caribbean Poker Party Festival, presented by the PokerNews Live Reporting team.

The action was folded around to Ryan Riess on the button who shipped all in for his last 1.2 million. He was quickly called by David Laka Calzada in the big blind and the cards were tabled

The board came {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Calzada hit a king on the turn to eliminate the former WSOP Main Event champion.

Jose The Hero

Nível 15 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

It's not often you stun an entire table into silence, especially when one of the players at said table is lively Brit Niall Farrell. Alas, Jose Reyes managed the seemingly insurmountable.

With around 4,000,000 in the middle and the board reading {2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Reyes' opponent moved in for 2,600,000, putting Reyes to what looked like an agonising decision. After taking a moment or two to think the hand through, Reyes eventually made the call.

His opponent turned over {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for queen high, standing up and passing his tournament receipt to the dealer. Reyes couldn't hide the smug expression as he revealed {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for bottom pair no kicker.

"Wow!" was about the only word anyone could manage, as Reyes dragged in a huge pot, bringing his stack up to eight figures.

Full House for Kenney

Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

With around 700,000 in the middle and the flop reading {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, the action was checked to the cutoff who bet 225,000. The button called and Bryn Kenney check-raised to 600,000 from middle position. The cutoff announced all in and the button quickly folded. Kenney instantly stuck in the rest of his chips and the cards were tabled.

Kenney was out front with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a set of tens and was up against his opponent's {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and the river brought the {7-Diamonds}. The flush came in but luckily for Kenney, it paired the board and he improved to a full house. When the stacks were counted, it was Kenney with the shorter stack of 1.605 million and he received a full double up.

Flushes for Stokkan and Ho

Nível 12 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Preben Stokkan raised to 85,000 from the cutoff and Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault three-bet to 250,000 out of the small blind. Stokkan four-bet shoved all in for 865,000 and Carpentier-Perrault called. Stokkan tabled {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Carpentier-Perrault showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The flop came {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Stokkan flopped a flush. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Diamonds} on the river were no help to Carpentier-Perrault and Stokkan doubled up.

On the next hand, Michael Malm raised to 80,000 from early position and was called by Carpentier-Perrault on the button and Maria Ho in the big blind. The flop fell {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and the action was checked around to the {2-Spades} on the turn. Ho led out for 155,000 and was called by Malm and Carpentier-Perrault.

The river brought the {5-Hearts} and Ho fired out a bet of 400,000. Malm thought for a minute before he made the call. Carpentier-Perrault also took his time, tanking for about two minutes and he called as well. Ho tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a flush and both of her opponents mucked their cards.

Ramos Making Use of His Second Bullet

Nível 10 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Felipe Ramos
Felipe Ramos

Felipe Ramos was one of those players forced to re-enter early in the day but he has started to make use of his second bullet. The action was folded around to the small blind who raised to 52,000. "Let's see a flop," Ramos said as he tossed in chips to call.

The flop came {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs} and the small blind continued for 50,000. Ramos quickly called and the {9-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn. The small blind fired another 75,000 and Ramos still called. The river brought the {3-Spades} and both players checked. The small blind turned over {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} but Ramos tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to earn himself the pot.
