Day 2 of the massive European Poker Tour Barcelona €10,300 High Roller has come to a close. Just 21 players remain in the event, which means play could take quite some time on Day 3 to crown a winner. No matter how long it takes, though, tomorrow will see someone walk away a champion and €747,200 richer.

Leading the survivors at the end of the night was Ami Barer, winner of the 2014 Aussie Millions Main Event back in January. Barer just outdid Ismail Erkenov at the end of the night thanks to an added boost from busting Benny Spindler in the final hand. He'll take 1.953 million into Day 3, while Erkenov bagged up 1.92 million.

Plenty of other notables are remaining in the field, including one Team PokerStars Pro and one PokerStars Team Online member. Jason Mercier is that of the former, and he finished with 888,000. Marc-Andre Ladouceur is that of the latter, and while he may be predominantly an online player, he was able to bag up 909,000 in this major live event.

Then there's Stephen Chidwick (1.491 million), Dario Sammartino (1.031 million), Alexander Roumeliotis (790,000), Vladimir Troyanovskiy (554,000), Nicolas Chouity (545,000), Juha Helppi (472,000), Dylan Linde (400,000), and Angel Guillen (269,000). Needless to say, the final day won't be lacking any firepower.

Day 3 will commence at 12 p.m. local time, and you can find the starting seat draw below:

Spindler Won't Be Getting Another High Roller Title Just Yet

[user68268] • Nível 21: 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante
Benny Spindler
Benny Spindler

Benny Spindler, winner of European Poker Tour high roller events in Sanremo and Tallinn, won't be getting a third high roller title in this event as he was just eliminated short of making Day 3, falling in 22nd place.

After Ami Barer raised to 40,000 from under the gun, Spindler three-bet shoved for approximately 180,000 from the cutoff seat. Play folded back to Barer, and he quickly called after getting an eyeball of Spindler's stack.

Barer had the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and Spindler the {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The flop hit Barer better than it did Spindler when the {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} fell. The turn was the {K-Clubs}, and that left Spindler down to just one final card to hit either an ace or a nine. When the {J-Spades} was put out on fifth street, Spindler knew he was done for and made his way to the exit. Barer stacked up the new chips and just might be the end-of-day chip leader because of it.

Sowa Out In 23rd

[user68268] • Nível 21: 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante

Gereon Sowa from Germany was just eliminated in 23rd place at the hands of Russia's Dmitry Yurasov.

The two got the money in preflop, with Yurasov holding the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} to Sowa's {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}. The board came {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and Sowa was gone.

Three More Hands

The title says it all! Just three more hands at each table before the players bag and tag their chips.

Erkenov Keeps Climbing

[user68268] • Nível 21: 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante

Ismail Erkenov three-bet to 75,000 from the button after Dmitry Yurasov raised to 40,000 from under the gun. The two blinds folded, and Yurasov called to see the flop come down {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Yurasov checked, and Erkenov bet 125,000. Yurasov folded, and Erkenov closed in on two million in chips.

Chidwick Eliminates Lewis

Webjoker • Nível 21: 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante

Toby Lewis open shoved his 337,000 from the hijack position with {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Stephen Chidwick went to battle from the big blind, bringing {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} as his weapons.

Lewis failed to improve his ace-eight, and headed for the exit with just about twenty minutes left on the clock.

McLaughlin Counterfeited and Out

Webjoker • Nível 21: 10,000-20,000, 3,000 ante

We just witnessed Marc Etienne McLaughlin get all of his chips in on {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{K-Spades} with {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} in the big blind. His opponent was Agshin Rasulov on the button who had made the call with {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

McLaughlin was heading for a double up, but the {8-Clubs} on the river spoiled that party. McLaughlin's two pair counterfeited, and Rasulov's nine kicker played.

With the departure of McLaughlin, the tournament is down to 24 and a re draw is in the works.

Roumeliotis Busts Lunkin

Vitaly Lunkin
Vitaly Lunkin

Alexander Roumeliotis and Vitaly Lunkin found all the money in on the {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades} board. Lunkin had the {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights, and he was drawing dead against the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for Roumeliotis. The river was the {J-Spades} to complete the board, and Lunkin was out the door. Roumeliotis climbed to 1.2 million in chips.
