Sotiropoulos Finds a Double

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

Before the blinds went up, Georgios Sotiropoulos opened to 12,000 from middle position and was called by Michael Rossitto on the button. Yuliyan Kolev, who recently took down WSOP Event #37: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em for a career high $1,125,189, three-bet to 43,000 out of the small blind and Sotiropoulos responded by moving all in. Rossitto got out of the way while Kolev called with the bigger stack to put Sotiropoulos at risk.

Georgios Sotiropoulos: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Yuliyan Kolev: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Sotiropoulos was flipping for his tournament life but found immediate help on the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. The {3-Hearts} turn left Kolev looking for one of the two remaining jacks to bust his opponent but was unable to hit on the {9-Clubs} river, leaving himself short while sending a large pot Sotiropoulos' way.

Wang Set Up For Deep Run

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Rong Wang
Rong Wang

Rong Wang opened to 17,000 from under the gun and faced a three-bet to 57,000 by a player in late position. Action folded back around to Wang who made the call to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

Wang checked to the three-bettor on a flop of {4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and called when his opponent continued for 70,000.

With a large pot brewing, Wang checked for a second time after the {9-Diamonds} turn. The late position player was in no mood to slow down and pushed a stack of chips totaling 121,000 across the betting line. Wang likewise had no issues playing for stacks and made the call.

Both players checked on the {2-Hearts} river and Wang turned over {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the turned set. Shaking his head in frustration, the late position player mucked while Wang, raking in his newly acquired chips, moved up the leaderboard as the field approaches the money bubble.
