Diaz Dalmau Makes Big Call

Nível 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

On a board reading {2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} Adria Diaz Dalmau in the big blind was involved in a hand with Daniel Montagnolli in the cutoff.

With around 38,000 in the middle, Diaz Dalmau checked and Montagnolli, with little hesitation, moved all in. Diaz Dalmau went deep into the tank, seeming uncomfortable with the decision at hand.

Eventually he emerged to make the call and was shown {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} by Montagnolli for a pair turned into a bluff. Diaz Dalmau flipped over {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} to scoop a large pot, courtesy of a big hero call, and rocket up the leaderboard. His opponent, meanwhile, was left with crumbs.

Maziar Keshavarzi

What a day June 5, 2022 was for Maziar Keshavarzi, who hails from San Antonio, Texas. The Lone Star State poker player took on the $1,100 no-limit hold'em event at the Wynn Summer Classic and completely obliterated his competition to the tune of a $46,107 payday via a three-way chop with Tyler Cormney, who received $43,346, and Kobi Ribak (3rd place for $29,781).

Although the final two payouts were close, Keshavarzi received the shiny Wynn Resorts replica trophy for winning heads-up play. Anthony Denove, who is from the Los Angeles area, finished in 4th place for $16,560.

The $200,000 guaranteed NLH tournament had 238 entries for a final prize pool of $233,240. Some big name players finished in the money, including Poker Hall of Famer David Oppenheim (10th place for $4,606), Sam Panzica (22nd place for $2,603), and Scott Baumstein (24th place for $2,367).

Korotki Flops Trips

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Abraham Korotki
Abraham Korotki

Abraham Korotki opened to 700 from the cutoff and received calls from the button as well as both blinds to create four-way action headed to the flop.

Action checked to the button on the {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop and that player led out for 700. The small blind and Korotki called while the big blind got out of the way.

All three players checked through the {3-Diamonds} turn to the {10-Spades} river where the small blind checked for a third time. Korotki threw out a bet of 2,300, enough to get the button to fold but the small blind, after some consideration, called. Korotki turned over {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for flopped trips with the top kicker, a hand his opponent could not beat.

Van Zadelhoff Picks Up Aces

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Mark Zajdner opened to 700 from late position and was called by the small blind. Steven van Zadelhoff three-bet to 2,600 out of the big blind and both Zajdner and the small blind folded. "Everytime bro!" exclaimed van Zadelhoff as he flipped over {a-}{a-}. "He gets aces and he doesn't drag in any orange [T-1000] chips" joked Zajdner as van Zadelhoff pulled in the few chips he had gained.

Palmer Picks Up Pot

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

A player on the button had three orange T-1,000 over the betting line, Ben Palmer was in the small blind and raised to 7,500, and action folded back to the button who called.

The dealer fanned the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, Palmer bet out enough chips to cover his opponent's stack of approximately 12,000, and the button player folded to concede the pot to Palmer.

Lim Left Short

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Yohwan Lim
Yohwan Lim

Matas Cimbolas had a bet of 2,500 in the middle preflop on the button and Yohwan Lim out of the big blind raised to 8,000. Cimbolas made the call to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

Lim continued his previous aggression with a bet of 4,500 on the {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop. Cimbolas did not immediately make the call but did do so eventually.

The {9-Hearts} turn saw Lim bet 25,000, enough to put Cimbolas all in. Cimbolas thought long and hard about his decision and ultimately came to the conclusion that he had to call, putting himself at risk.

Matas Cimbolas: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Yohwan Lim: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Cimbolas was ahead with his superior overpair but Lim did have a club draw. It did not come in, however, on the {4-Diamonds} river, sending a large pot Cimbolas' way and leaving Lim short.
