Defending Champion Bohdanov Eliminated

Renat Bohdanov
Renat Bohdanov

With Andres Iglesias-Frey all-in preflop, three other players were in action including defending WSOP Europe Opener champion Renat Bohdanov.

Bohdanov, along with Thorsten Weis and Martynas Miliauskas checked the {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and the turn was the {6-Clubs}. Bohdanov bet 4,000 and got two callers. The river was the {a-Hearts} and Bohdanov bet 8,500. Weis folded and Miliauskas shoved for 22,000.

Bohdanov called with {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a flopped set, but was already getting up to his feet. Miliauskas showed {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for the rivered straight, and took both main and side pots with Iglesias-Frey's {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} well beaten.

Willibald Stopfer raised to 2,500 from under the gun, and after shoves from Andres Iglesias-Frey and Alexander Rahman — both for around 20 big blinds — Stopfer called putting both players at risk.

Andres Iglesias-Frey: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Alexander Rahman: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Willibald Stopfer: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

There was no help for either of his opponents on the {3-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} run out and Stopfer chipped up to 85,000, which is approximately double average with 399/639 players remaining.

Vivian Saliba

The full board of {6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades} was out between Vivian Saliba and another opponent. It checked to Saliba who bet 11,000 and her opponent called.

Saliba showed a six, eventually tabling {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a pair of sixes and a missed flush draw, with her opponent showing {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for top pair and taking down the pot.

This beat bumped Saliba back down to starting stack.

Defending Champ Bohdanov Knocks One Out

The board was {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Simon Taberham checked to reigning champion Renat Bohdanov who bet 3,100 into a pot of around 7,000. The third player in the hand called before Taberham check-raised all in for 13,700.

Bohdanov tank-called, with the other player folding, and the cards were turned over.

Simon Taberham: {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Renat Bohdanov: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

With the cards exposed, Bohdanov placed the chips he had used to call back on his stack before the dealer reminded them they needed to remain out in front.

"Got it in so good you're taking your chips back," said Taberham.

"I'll put them back if I lose," replied Bohdanov light-heartedly. The turn {7-Spades} gave Bohdanov a flush and the river {k-Diamonds} was a brick, sending Taberham to the rail.
