Anton Wigg Eliminated in 11th Place (€13,228)

Anton Wigg, out in 11th.
Anton Wigg, out in 11th.

Anton Wigg was one of the players we looked out for at the beginning of the day, but within hands after David Benyamine busted we also lost the EPT Copenhagen winner.

Wigg raised pre flop to 12,000 and he got three-bet to 35,000 by Roy Finlay who has been on a roll lately. The action got back to Wigg who thought about it for a while and than shoved for his remaining 270.000 chips. "I call," Finlay said with confidence and that was not what Wigg was hoping for.

Anton Wigg{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Robert Finlay{K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts} giving Finlay a set and the knock-out. Wigg left the room in style wishing the rest of the players good luck before he went to collect his money. "Within 40 minutes I went from short stack to chip leader," Finlay laughed. The Brit is having a great time here at the tables but he's still trailing Humbert, who can see his opponents coming closer.

David Benyamine out in 12th.

After being crippled by Alexander Salabaschew, David Benyamine moved his last 41,000 into the middle and he received a caller in the shape of Roy Finlay.

Finlay{9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}
Benyamine{K-Clubs} {10-Spades}

The flop was kind to Benyamine as it dropped down {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} but the turn put the ball back into the Finlay park and it stayed there. Turn: {9-Hearts} and River: {2-Spades}.

Finlay, who qualified for this event through a £220 satellite now has 250,000.

Hellmuth Hurting

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

He started the day second in chips but only 20 minutes into the day he has dropped below average. We caught the action on the turn between Krakow and Hellmuth when the following happened.

The board read {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} when Hellmuth bet 38,000 from the big blind. Krakow tanked for a bit before calling from the under the gun position. The river was the {9-Hearts} and both players checked. "Nine," Hellmuth said after which Krakow turned over {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} to scoop the pot.

Krakow is climbing while Hellmuth has dropped to the middle of the pack.

Starting Action At The Non-Feature Table

Alexander Salabaschew won the first pot that went to a flop, and then Anton Wigg three-bet out of the blinds forcing David Benyamine to fold his button raise. We then had our first significant pot.

Guillaume Humbert raised to 15,000 on the button and Alexander Salabaschew defended his big blind. The flop was {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} {3-Hearts} and Salabaschew grabbed the betting initiative with a 22,000 flick of the wrist and Humbert made the call. The turn of {A-Hearts} was checked through before the dealer gave us the final card of {5-Hearts}. Salabaschew checked and Humbert bet 32,000 and Salabaschew called.

Humbert dragged the pot down when he showed {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} and Salabaschew mucked his cards unsay.

Adrien Allain is all in against Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth decided to raise to 18,000 in one of the first hands of the day. The action got folded to Adrien Allain who shoved for his remaining 123,000 chips and Hellmuth shouted, "Call!" right away.

Phil Hellmuth{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Adrien Allain{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The flop, {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, gave Allain trips leaving Hellmuth with only two outs. The turn, the {4-Diamonds}, and the river, the {8-Hearts}, didn't change anything giving Allain a crucial double up.
