Benson Gets There, But Not How He Hoped

Nível 14 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Stud

Daniel Negreanu was betting into two players on fifth street when we got to his table, and both Gary Benson and Talal Shakerchi called. They called bets on sixth as well, and everyone checked seventh.

Shakerchi: {x-}{x-}/{5-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}/{x-}
Negreanu: {x-}{10-}{x-}/{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Benson: {7-Diamonds}{2-}{5-Diamonds}/{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Negreanu showed down tens and got a muck from Shakerchi, but an apologetic Benson said he was chasing a flush and made sevens up for the win.

Gregorich tabled {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for kings full of deuces, Alaei mucked, and Gregorich won the pot.

Haxton Takes Out "ODB"

Nível 14 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
David ODB Baker
David ODB Baker

Pot-Limit Omaha

Isaac Haxton raised from the cutoff to 28,000. Cary Katz called on the button and David "ODB" Baked called from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Baker led out, betting 85,000. Haxton plopped a stack of T$25,000 chips in the pot which was enough to cover both Katz and Baker. Katz let go quickly and Baker called .

Haxton: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Baker: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

Haxton was leading with his set but Baker had outs to a flush draw. The turn was the {10-Spades}, keeping Haxton in the lead but giving Baker some new outs to a straight. The river was the {9-Diamonds} though, giving Baker his flush but making Haxton a full house.

"Good luck everyone," Baker said as he made his way out of the tournament area.

"I had kings there," Catz said after the hand. "I guess I dodged a bullet."

Phil Galfond_ Jake Abdalla_ James Obst
Phil Galfond_ Jake Abdalla_ James Obst

Stud

Phil Galfond completed with the {q-Diamonds}, but both players with aces behind him wanted to play for more. Jake Abdalla made it two bets with {a-Diamonds} and James Obst made it three with {a-Clubs}. Galfond went nowhere and Abdalla caught the prettiest card on fourth, so he bet out with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, getting two calls. On fifth and sixth, it was Obst betting.

Galfond: {x-}{x-}/{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Abdalla: {x-}{x-}/{a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Obst: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Everyone called to see seventh. Obst fired a final bet and Galfond called. Abdalla folded and Obst showed {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} for aces and fours.

Galfond Pays Off Sion on Seventh

Nível 14 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Razz

Galfond: {x-}{x-} / {4-}{J-}{5-}{Q-} / {x-}
Sion: {x-}{x-} / {4-}{K-}{6-}{3-} / {x-}

With already over 100,000 in the pot, we caught up to Phil Galfond and Elior Sion involved in a hand on seventh street. Galfond checked over to Sion who put out a bet and Galfond was in the tank. He thought for about a minute before he tossed in the call.

Sion showed {A-}{2-}{8-} for a six low and that was good as Galfond mucked his hand, dropping him down under 100,000 chips.
