Among the other hopefuls still in contention is 2017 Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em MILLIONAIRE MAKER winner Pablo Mariz, who emerged victorious from a huge field of 7,761 players to take home the championship and $1,221,407 for his efforts earlier this series. Mariz will head into Day 3 with an above-average stack of 2,500,000.

Other notables include Randy Pfeifer (2,595,000), WSOP all-time number of cashes leader Douglas Carli (2,050,000), South Korea's Vivian Im (1,545,000), Harry Lodge (1,400,000), Ray Qartomy (1,375,000), [Removed:172] (1,350,000), Danny Wong (1,240,000), Event #25: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha runner-up Jonathan Zarin (750,000) and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Ben Yu (610,000).

The action will recommence at 2 p.m. local time with level 29 and blinds of 40,000/80,000 with a running ante of 10,000. The tournament is scheduled to play down to a winner here on the Fourth of July, the Independence Day of the United States, and the PokerNews live reporting team will provide all the action from the floor.

Danny Wong Eliminated in 24th Place ($26,070)

Danny Wong
Danny Wong

Vlad Darie raised to 175,000 from the cutoff, earning a flat-call from small blind Adrian Moreno. Danny Wong squeeze-shoved from the big blind, forcing a fold from Darie. Moreno didn't hesitate much before calling.

Danny Wong: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Adrian Moreno: {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

While it was originally a fair confrontation, the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} flop put Moreno's hand way ahead. "How about that flop!" someone in Moreno's rail shouted.

Wong could only hope for a miracle runner-runner but his chances were already halted on the {7-Hearts} turn. The river was meaningless as Wong had already known he was heading for his payout.

Benjamin Ector Eliminated in 23rd Place ($26,070)

Benjamin Ector

Benjamin Ector tried to spin his wheels, facing off against Harry Lodge preflop. Ector had {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was slightly behind Lodge's {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}.

The {3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} flop was, however, a teaser for Ector who spiked some additional outs with his flush draw.

Unfortunately for him, a third diamond card never arrived as the remaining board ran out {4-Clubs} and {5-Spades}, eliminating Ector from contention.

Brad Albrinck

The cards were all but rushed away and Brad Albrinck grabbed his belongings before heading to the rail.

Albrinck's {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} were still tabled and he had spiked bottom set on a board of {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

However, the deuces were no good as Ian O'Hara had the higher set with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} to send Albrinck to the rail in 22nd place for $26,070.

Nível 30 : 50,000/100,000, 15,000 ante
Ian O’Hara
Ian O’Hara

Within two hands, the stack of Ian O'Hara has melted to zero and the chips went to Randy Pfeifer and Vlad Darie.

Hand #1:

Picking up the action on the {J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs} turn, Pfeifer checked out of the big blind and O'Hara bet 300 from the cutoff. Pfeifer check-raised to 700,000 and O'Hara called. On the {J-Hearts} river, Pfeifer bet 1,125,000 and O'Hara reluctantly called, then mucked when he was shown {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for trips jacks by Pfeifer.

Hand #2:

Down to 23 big blinds, O'Hara faced a raise by table neighbor Vlad Darie and three-bet all in with pocket nines. Darie called with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} and flopped a jack, making the nine on the river a cruel formality.

O'Hara, who started the day in the lead, had to settle for a disappointing 20th place and payday of $26,070.

Vlad Darie raised to 200,000 from the cutoff and Adrian Moreno, as well as [Removed:172] in the small blind, both called. The flop fell {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Kramer checked to Darie who continued for 350,000. Moreno raised to 850,000 and Kramer folded.

Darie moved all in and Moreno quickly called for the remainder of his stack.

Moreno: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Darie: {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The {Q-Hearts} turn gave Moreno trips, but Darie got there thanks to the {5-Clubs} on the river to eliminate Moreno in 19th place for $26,070.

Guillaume Diaz and Vivian Im
Guillaume Diaz and Vivian Im

Guillaume Diaz raised from the cutoff. Short-stacked Ray Qartomy folded but Vivian Im jammed from the small blind. Action returned to Diaz who snap-called, quickly turning up his {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

Im had {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and her railbirds liked the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop, calling for a runner-runner straight.

The {J-Spades} turn gave Im an open-ended straight draw, suddenly improving her chances to 10 outs. None of them, however, emerged on the river as the {8-Hearts} sealed her fate.

Im exited in 17th place for $26,070 and the remaining players are now taking new seats, merging to the final two tables.

While the other tables were racking up the chips for the redraw, table seven was still playing. Vlad Darie raised from early position and Paul Berger defended his big blind. Berger bet the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and then called all in for approximately 1,600,000 after Darie had pushed all in.

Paul Berger: {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Vlad Darie: {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The {8-Diamonds} turn gave Darie trips eights and Berger's flush draw never got there with the {9-Diamonds} appearing on the river. Berger was eliminated in 16th place for $32,665 and Darie further built his lead for the last two tables.

Ioannis Angelou Konstas raised to 255,000 and Jose Reyes moved all in for approximately 2,800,000 from one seat over. Once the action was back on Konstas, he called instantly to put Reyes at risk.

Reyes: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Konstas: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

An uneventful board of {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} sent Reyes to the rail in 15th place and he will collect $32,665 for his efforts.

Douglas Carli was down to 1,490,000 and he decided to play for all of his belongings, shoving from a middle position. [Removed:172] reraised all in from the hijack, and the other players quickly released their cards.

Carli: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Kramer: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Carli was in trouble and the {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} provided no rescue for him.
