Welcome Back to Day 2 of $25,000 High Roller

Freddy Deeb
Freddy Deeb

It is poker's version of "Moving Day" as 93 players return to the felt for Day 2 of Event #16: $25,000 High Roller at the 2023 World Series of Poker. Players will continue to jockey for position throughout the day as the money bubble approaches and the final table will take place on this event's third and final day.

Calvin Anderson is leading the way after a stellar Day 1, who bagged a whopping 1,609,000 chips, especially considering he only played a few levels. Anderson was one of the late entries but put his starting stack to quick use as he vaulted up the leaderboard to bag the overall chip lead. Hot on his tail is "old-schooler" Freddy Deeb, who will be looking to add to his WSOP bracelet collection with 1,441,000 chips.

Some other big stacks to keep an eye on include Brian Kim (1,291,000), Isaac Haxton (1,195,000), and Alex Nguyen (1,060,000) as the only other players with seven-figure stacks. The field is also littered with many other big names in the poker world including two WSOP Main Event champions Espen Jorstad (377,000) and Joe McKeehen (320,000).

The cards are scheduled to go in the air at 12:00 p.m. PDT, at which point late registration will close. Those making a last-ditch effort to enter the field will be given a starting stack of 150,000 chips with the blinds set to resume on Level 9 at 5,000/10,000 and a 10,000 big blind ante. All of the action today will take place inside the Horseshoe alongside the feature tables.

Another 10 levels are on the schedule today with the money bubble expected to burst later on in the evening. The levels will continue to be 60 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels. There is a 60-minute dinner break scheduled for after Level 14 today.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the action throughout the day including the money bubble and who advances to Day 3 tomorrow.

Brock Wilson opened to 27,000 on the button and Michael Jozoff called in the small blind while the big blind folded.

The flop of 575 saw action check through to the 9 turn where Jozoff bet 55,000 and Wilson called.

On the river 8, Jozoff sized down to 35,000 which had Wilson squirming uncomfortably in his seat. After using a time extension, he tossed in the call only to see Jozoff turn over A9 for nines up which was good for the pot and Wilson mucked.
