Who Will Win the $25k High Roller Today?
Event #16:$25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller saw a record breaking field of 301 entrants create a prizepool of $7,073,500. This is the third time that the WSOP has run a $25,000 NLH tournament and the only one to see a field of over 300 players, creating the biggest prize yet of $1,698,215 to first place.
Leading the way is Czech Republic’s Roman Hrabec with 6,050,000, which is good for 60 big blinds. Hrabec has yet to add a bracelet to his resume, but with a deep run in the 2023 WSOP and over $2 million in live earnings, he has put himself in prime position to do so.
Rounding out the top three is WSOP bracelet winner Frank Funaro (5,065,000), who has also finished runner up in an online WSOP high roller for a bracelet, and WSOP bracelet winner Aleksejs Ponakovs (4,470,000). Ponakovs is one of four players left who hold bracelets, the others being Joao Vieira (4,090,000), Brian Rast (3,965,000), and Kristen Foxen (2,675,000). They will be among the stacked field of no-limit hold’em crushers playing out for the bracelet.

Play will begin at 12 p.m. in the Horseshoe in Level 19. Blinds will begin at 50,000/100,000 with a 100,000 big blind ante. Levels will last one hour each, with a 15-minute break in between every two levels. Play will continue until a winner is crowned, with the beginning of the day being live streamed on YouTube and the final table being live streamed on PokerGO.

Frank Funaro raised to 200,000 in late position and on the button Michael Jozoff raised to 460,000. Action folded back around to Funaro who moved all in for 2,030,000 effective and Jozoff snap called.

There hasn't been much to report from the feature table as of yet, other than Brian Rast picking up quite a few small pots. Rast raised it up on the button and Roman Hrabec defended from the big blind. The flop came K♥5♠4♦ and Rast picked up the pot with a bet of 150,000 on the flop.
On the next hand, Rast raised to 200,000 again and Kristen Foxen called from the big blind The flop fell A♥K♥5♠ and both players checked to the 9♥ on the turn.
Foxen checked again and Rast sized up a bet of 360,000. Foxen dispatched her cards and Rast raked in another pot.

Isaac Haxton raised to 215,000 and Taylor von Kriegenbergh three-bet to 650,000 on the button. Haxton responded with a four-bet shove and Von Kriegenbergh instantly called off his stack of 2,630,000.

It was a classic flip and the flop of 10♣6♠4♦ favored Haxton with the pocket queens. The 4♠ on the turn and the 7♣ on the river changed nothing and Von Kriegenbergh was eliminated in 13th place.

Funaro Catches a Pair on the River

Frank Funaro raised it up on the button and Lewis Spencer called from the big blind. The flop came 9♣7♠3♠ and Spencer check-called a bet of 325,000 from Funaro.
The 7♥ paired the board on the turn and Spencer led out with a bet of 290,000. Funaro raised to 750,000 and Spencer stuck around for the J♦ on the river. Spencer checked this time and Funaro instantly tapped the table as well. Spencer turned over 9♠5♠ but Funaro rivered the best pair with J♥8♥ to scoop the pot.

Rast Takes Over The Chip Lead
