De Silva Comes From Behind to Double

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Upeshka De Silva
Upeshka De Silva

A player in the cutoff opened and action folded to Upeshka De Silva in the small blind, who moved all in for 13,600. The cutoff player, who had the larger stack, mulled over his decision before eventually making the call to put De Silva at risk.

Upeshka de Silva: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Cutoff Player: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

De Silva was behind and would need to alot of help to survive. That help came immediately on the {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop, giving De Silva top pair. The {4-Spades} turn and {4-Hearts} river kept De Silva ahead, securing him a double up to just above starting stack.

Campbell Ousted by Duong

Nível 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Calais Campbell
Calais Campbell

Calais Campbell got all of his money in preflop against Quoc Duong and another player.

Unknown Player: {8-}{8-}
Calais Campbell: {a-}{q-}
Quoc Duong:{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Duong had both of his opponents covered but was well behind. That all changed on the {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, which improved Duong to the nut flush draw. Nothing changed on the {5-Clubs} turn but Duong nailed the {9-Clubs} river to score the double knockout, sending future NFL hall of famer Campbell home short of the money.

Ho Loses Some

Nível 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho has enjoyed a red-hot start to this event, already amassing one of the biggest stacks in the room. Action folded to Ho in the cutoff, who opened. She received a single call from the big blind to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

The big blind checked to Ho on a flop of{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Ho continued for 1,500 and was called.

Action checked through the {6-Diamonds} turn to the {7-Spades} river. At this point the big blind player led into Ho, betting out 3,700. Ho thought for some time before tossing in calling chips. The player in the big blind turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for top pair top kicker and Ho, saying "That is a very strong hand", tossed her cards into the muck.
