Shannon Shorr was among the notable names to advance after Day 1a of the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #37: $1,500 Millionaire Maker as he bagged 244,000. Some 738 runners from this flight will return for Day 2 of the 3,546 entries.

Shorr will be chasing his first bracelet and he tops many people's list as one of the "best without a bracelet" having earned over $10 million in live tournament earnings.

Other familiar names who made it through to Day 2 included Maria Ho, Davidi Kitai, Alex Foxen, Niall Farrell, and big stack, Anatoly Filatov.

They will return to Bally's at 10 a.m. on Sunday to battle for what is already a $4,757,940 prize pool with the second flight still to go.

Fox Loses Some

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Elio Fox
Elio Fox

Elio Fox opened from early position to 4,500 and was called by the button and big blind.

Action checked through on a flop of {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} to the {7-Clubs}. At this point the big blind player led out for 4,000 and both Fox and the player on the button called.

The {3-Diamonds} river saw all three players check once more and the big blind turned over {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}, good enough to win the pot and take some chips from Fox on one of the last hands of the night.

Lay Saved By the River

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Shannon Shorr opened to 4,000 from late position and was called by the cutoff as well as Kenny Lay in the big blind.

Action checked to the cutoff player on a flop of {10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}, who fired off a bet of 8,000. Lay responded by moving all in for 26,500. Shorr, seeing such a great deal of action ahead of him, folded and the cutoff player called with the larger stack to put Lay at risk.

Kenny Lay: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Cutoff: {q-}{j-}

Lay was behind but did have an open ended straight draw. The {6-Hearts} turn brought no help to Lay but he nailed Barry Greenstein,{a-Spades}, on the river to survive late on Day 1.

Linde Lets One Go

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Dylan Linde
Dylan Linde

A player raised from the cutoff and action folded to Dylan Linde in the small blind, who called. The big blind got out of the way to send the players heads-up to the flop.

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades} Linde checked and his opponent led out for 3,500. After some consideration, Linde released his hand to put a small dent in his stack.
