Patel Rivers a Straight

Nível 32 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Ravi Raghavan opened to 300 from the cutoff, getting a call from all three other players at the table.

The {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop and {3-Diamonds} turn were checked around, before David Dowdy fired for 475,000 on the {q-Clubs} river. Raghavan and Michael Simhai got out of the way before Anant Patel made the call, announcing "straight" as he did so. He turned over {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, good for the queen high straight. Dowdy mucked his hand as Patel scooped the pot to add to his growing chip stack.

Ravi Raghavan opened to 300,000 from the button and Michael Simhai made the call in the small blind. Anant Patel moved all in from the big blind for 1,875,000. Raghavan folded, but after some thought, Simhai made the call.

Patel: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The board came {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} to give Patel the best hand and secure him the full double.

Simhai and Dowdy Battling for Chip Lead

Nível 32 : 75,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

After limping preflop, Ravi Raghavan fired for 150,000 at the {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. David Dowdy raised to 350,000, and Raghavan called.

The {9-Clubs} turn was checked around before Dowdy fired for 250,000 at the {a-Clubs} river. Raghavan made the call, and Dowdy announced "Two pair," before turning over {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Raghavan tossed his hand in the muck as Dowdy raked in the pot.

A couple hands later, Raghavan opened to 300,000, getting called by Michael Simhai and Anant Patel.

On the {q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, an identical round of betting occurred, as Raghavan led for 300,000 and both opponents called.

The {7-Hearts} turn was checked before Patel fired for 650,000 on the {8-Diamonds} river. Raghavan got out of the way before Simhai made the call. Simhai turned over {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, good for two pair, and the pot, adding to his narrow chip lead over Dowdy.

Anant Patel opened to 250,000 in middle position before Timothy McDermott moved all in for about 600,000 in position. Patel made the call and cards were tabled.

Anant Patel: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Timothy McDermott: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The flop was {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts} to leave McDermott drawing thin.

"Heart!" pleaded McDermott.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}, giving him a gutshot.

"Two!" McDermott asked for the backup plan.

The river was the {q-Spades} and McDermott was eliminated.

Spirits High at Final Table

Nível 31 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Despite the large stakes these players are battling for, the players are getting along well at the final table.

David Dowdy fired a bet from the button. Michael Samhai, the big blind, told the dealer "If you can promise me three fours on the flop, I'll call," as he showed his {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} before folding.

"Aw you got one of my set, you dog," Dowdy told Samhai, as he showed {9-}{9-}.

"See, I knew what I needed. That's why I asked for fours not nines," Samhai quipped.

"I wouldn't even be able to river quads since you got one of my nines." Dowdy responded. The two players shared a laugh as they prepared for the next hand.
