Woodward is Back

Nível 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Matt Woodward opened with a raise on the button and Amir Shayesteh three-bet from the big blind. Woodward called and the dealer spread the flop of {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

Shayesteh led out with a bet and Woodward called to see the {9-Diamonds} on the turn. Shayesteh fired out another bet and Woodward raised this time. Shayesteh called and the {5-Hearts} paired the board on the river.

Shayesteh checked and Woodward bet once more. Shayesteh quickly called and Woodward tabled {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a flush and raked in the pot.

"He's baaackkk," Jesse Lonis pointed out as Woodward's stack got increasingly larger.

Eric Wasserson Eliminated in 18th Place ($0)

Nível 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Eric Wasserson
Eric Wasserson

Eric Wasserson was the shortest stack in the room and had just recently doubled up. However, just moments later he got the last of his chips in the middle again. This time proved to be not as fortunate as he was unable to stay alive.

"Payout!" the dealer at the table announced as the rest of the players erupted in laughter.

"How much does 18th pay?" Jason Mercier asked as he was looking on. "At least you were close."

With Wasserson's elimination, the field is now just three players off the money.

Woodward Cracks Aces of Lonis

Nível 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Jesse Lonis opened in early position and Matt Woodward three-bet in middle position. The big blind flat-called and Lonis four-bet when the action got back around. Both opponents called.

Lonis bet when checked to on the flop of {6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and Woodward raised. The big blind folded and Lonis called.

Lonis check-called on the {5-Hearts} turn and again check-called on the {5-Spades} river.

Woodward turned over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for top set after out-flopping the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} of Lonis to put a big dent in his stack.

Campbell Runs Out of Chips

Nível 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

A completed board of {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} was spread across the felt with Robert Campbell and Matthew Gonzales heads-up in what was already a large pot. Campbell led out with a bet from the big blind and Gonzales raised him. Campbell gave it some thought before making the call. Gonzales showed {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Campbell mucked, leaving himself with just 8,000 chips.

On the next hand, Chad Eveslage raised from under the gun and Campbell put the last of his 8,000 chips in the middle. David Litt also called from the big blind to see a flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Litt checked to Eveslage who continued with a bet. Litt check-raised and Eveslage stuck around for the {5-Clubs} on the turn. Litt bet again and Eveslage let his hand go. Litt tabled {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} which was ahead of Campbell's {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} to improve Litt to a full house, sending Campbell home short of the money.

Wasserson Stays Alive

Nível 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Eric Wasserson was down to just a few chips and called a raise in the big blind from the under-the-gun player, Matthew Schreiber.

Wasserson checked on the flop of {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Schreiber checked back. Wasserson checked again on the {10-Diamonds} turn and snap-folded when Schreiber bet.

Down to just 8,000, Wasserson got it in heads-up from the small blind against Schreiber in the big blind.

Eric Wasserson: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Matthew Schreiber: {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades} to give both players pairs and Wasserson's hand held up as the board ran out {j-Spades},{j-Clubs} to earn him a double up.
