Vampan Starts as Chip Leader for Event #23: $3,000 Limit Hold’em 6 Handed Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Event #23: $3,000 Limit Hold’em 6 Handed. After 10 levels of play yesterday and a starting field of 213 entries, there are currently 93 players remaining who will be battling it out to make it into tomorrow's Day 3 where a champion will be crowned. Play will resume today at 2:00 p.m. local time in Bally’s.

The total prize pool of this event is $568,710 and the first place finish will receive $142,147 and a coveted gold WSOP bracelet.

The title of chip leader at the end of Day 1 went to Daniel Vampan from West Hills, California with a stack of 217,500. Vampan has cashed in many previous events with his top finish in a WSOP event for 69th place in the 2018 $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em MILLIONAIRE MAKER for $14,944.

Rounding out the top five chip stacks behind Vampan were Phuong Nguyen (210,000), Ruiko Mamiya (207,000), Bin Duan (193,000) and Joao Vieira (176,000).

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and Henson checked to Dangoor who bet again. Hanson tanked for a minute but eventually called.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Henson check-called once more. Dangoor revealed {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Henson took down the pot with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for a pair of aces.

The flop fanned {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and Vieira check-raised Rosen, who quickly called. On the {k-Hearts} turn Vieira bet and Rosen called.

The {6-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Vieira sent another bet in the middle. Rosen thought about his move for a minute and raised, putting Vieira into a decision. "You have flush?" asked the Portuguese player, who tanked for another minute before folding his hand.

Henson Catches Lancaster in Bluff

Ray Henson and Mike Lancaster were once again in a heads-up battle with Henson in the big blind and Lancaster under the gun. The flop came down {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} to which Henson check-called Lancaster.

A {3-Clubs} showed up on the turn to which Henson check-called Lancaster again.

On the river was a {2-Spades} which Henson checked. Lancaster bet and sent Henson into the tank for a minute before he finally called. Lancaster flipped over {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for king-high and Henson showed {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

Lancaster said "Don't write that one down!" and the table laughed.

The river was a {2-Diamonds} which Rocco checked and Kelsall bet but Rocco didn't call, so Kelsall won the side pot.

Cards went up for the main and Kelsall showed {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} for two pairs, aces and jacks. Aldemir showed his hand {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, but it was not enough to beat Kelsall and he exited the tournament in 18th place.
