Friedman Put in the Tank

Nível 8
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Baduecey

Picking action up on the first draw with three bets in each, Scott Clements drew one in the small blind and Adam Friedman drew two on the button.

Clements bet and Friedman called, then each player drew one.

Again Clements bet and Friedman called.

On the final draw, Clements stood pat and Friedman drew one. Clements bet once more and the three-time defending champion went deep into the tank.

"This sucks", said Friedman at one point before picking up his chips and placing them in front of Clements then mucking his hand.

Friedman hasn't been able to pick up any consistent momentum today as his stack hasn't ventured too high or low from its 60,000 chip starting point.

Once Upon a Split Pot

Nível 8

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

Joey Couden: {x-}{x-} / {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} / {x-}
Matthew Ashton: {x-}{x-} / {6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}

The one game in the rotation to most likely end in split pots is certainly Stud Hi-Lo Regular and he first chop saw Joey Couden and Matthew Ashton check down seventh street. Couden tabled the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} for a low, pair and missed flush draw to secure half the pot. Ashton locked up the high portion with {q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} for tens and fours.

Todd Barlow: {x-}{x-} / {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} / {x-}
Phil Hellmuth: {x-}{x-} / {8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} / {x-}

Todd Barlow then bet fourth to sixth street against Phil Hellmuth, who called on all of the streets before he said "is it too greedy to ask for a straight?" ahead of seventh. That got Barlow thinking and he eventually checked it back. Hellmuth turned over the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a pair, nine-low and missed gutshot. Barlow secured the high portion holding the {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for tens and fours.

Siegel Takes Two in a Row

Nível 8

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Ian O'Hara paid off a bet worth 16,200 after the draw and mucked when Jordan Siegel tabled the {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

One hand later, Scott Bohlman raised on the button and Siegel called in the big blind. Siegel discarded two and Bohlman required one new card. Siegel then bet 6,000 and Bohlman folded.

Gorodinsky Loses to Reitz; Gets the Chips Back

Nível 8

Badeucey

"It looked like a straight to my dead eyes," Mike Gorodinsky said after he paid off a final bet by Fabian Reitz and was shown the {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} by Reitz to lose a small chunk of his large tower of chips.

Gorodinsky then raised the next hand and called a three-bet by Reitz. Both discarded two cards each and checked. They discarded two each again and Reitz bet, Gorodinsky called. Reitz patted and Gorodinsky took one card as they checked it down thereafter.

Reitz revealed a {10-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{3-} but Gorodinsky had that beat with the {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

Hellmuth Chipping Up Quickly

Nível 8
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Badeucey

Phil Hellmuth has quickly added to his stack since hopping into the tournament after the last break, and a recent hand has moved him over 100,000 for the first time.

Picking action up on the final draw, Hellmuth was first to act. He patted his hand and bet dark before Anatoliy Zyrin had decided on his action.

Zyrin drew one and then called. Hellmuth spread {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a nine-six and a six-dugi. Zyrin tossed his cards to the muck, conceding the pot to the 16-time bracelet winner.

Friedman Gets Very Short; Recovers Some Chips

Nível 8

Razz

Adam Friedman: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{6-}{7-}{10-} / {x-}
Mike Matusow: {x-}{x-} / {2-}{k-}{a-}{k-} / {x-}

Mike Matusow hesitated to bet seventh street against a short-stacked Adam Friedman, who had a favouring board. Both eventually checked and had the {8-}{5-}{3-} for an eighty-five as the winning hand.

"I am not going to bet my last 5k when he could well have a seven," Matusow said in table chat.

Andrew Kelsall: {x-}{x-} / {3-}{k-}{10-} fold on fifth
Adam Friedman: {x-}{x-} / {3-}{4-}{j-}

Friedman then bet against Andrew Kelsall, who called on fourth and tanked on fifth. In a very jovial atmosphere, both talked about the possible outcome and Friedman mentioned "you could already be drawing dead, I think you should fold." Kelsall referred to some additional bonus equity for knocking out the three-time champ of this event but eventually folded.
