Bohlman Chips Up in Showdown

Nível 2

Pot-Limit Omaha High

With 5,500 in the middle to the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds} turn, Scott Bohlman in the big blind tossed in a T-5,000 chip and announced a bet worth 4,000. His only opponent by then was Shawn Buchanan on the button and that ended up winning the pot without showdown.

Kihara Leads the Way; Fuchs and Chait Join the Field

Nível 2

Towards the end of the first level, there was yet another all-in and call. This time, however, there was no split pot as Eric Kurtzman's seat was empty and Naoya Kihara essentially commenced Day 1 of this tournament with a double stack.

Soon after, the field grew to nearly 50 entries as Carol Fuchs and Craig Chait entered the fray,

Negreanu Chops With Jett

Nível 2

Big O

In three-way action with a larger pot created once more, Daniel Negreanu jammed the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} river. He forced one fold but Chip Jett called all-in for fewer than Negreanu's stack.

Negreanu tabled the {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a low and sevens full of fives but was denied the scoop, as Chip Jett's {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} represented the superior full house.

Benyamine Off to Hot Start

Nível 1

Pot-Limit Omaha

With 5,000 in the pot already on a turn board of {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, David Benyamine bet 2,500 from the cutoff and was called by Shawn Buchanan on the button.

On the river {k-Spades}, Benyamine bet another 3,500, and after some deliberation, Buchanan called.

Benyamine showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for sixes full of kings to take another early pot as he's chipped up nicely to start the first level of play.

Meanwhile, Scott Bohlman is among the latest entrants, joining Benyamine and Buchanan's table as the field has now grown to 44 players.

Kihara and Ausmus Chop a Pot

Nível 1

Badeucey

Jeremy Ausmus raised and Naoya Kihara made it three bets for Eric Kurtzman to cold-call and Ausmus also came along. Kurtzman took three new cards while Ausmus and Kihara took two each. Ausmus bet, Kihara called and Kurtzman also called as well.

Ausmus then patted, Kihara took one and Kurtzman took three new cards. The bet by Ausmus was raised by Kihara, which forced out Kurtzman and Ausmus called. Both then patted and Ausmus check-called a bet.

Kihara tabled the {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} / {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for a three-card Badugi and seventy-five. Ausmus turned over the {7-Clubs} / {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} for an eight-Dugi with an eighty-seven and chopped the pot.

Negreanu Calls Pot-Limit Omaha, Immediately Ends up All in

Nível 1
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Pot-Limit Omaha

In the first hand of PLO, Daniel Negreanu limped in the cutoff and was raised to 2,000 by 2021 $1,500 Dealer's Choice champion (and 2022 runner-up) Jaswinder Lally, who raised to 2,000.

Negreanu came back with a re-raise to 5,600 which Lally called.

The duo saw a flop of {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and Lally led out for 15,000. Negreanu then moved all in for slightly more than Lally's approximately 51,000 chips and was quickly called.

Jaswinder Lally: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Daniel Negreanu: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}

Each player had aces, but Negreanu also had a flush draw to go with his.

The turn brought the {8-Diamonds}, giving each player a full house to chop the pot before the inconsequential {k-Hearts} fell on the river.

Buchalter Gets Lally to Fold

Nível 1

Badacey

Joining the action on the second draw, Jaswinder Lally and Yehuda Buchalter both drew two cards and Lally check-called a bet by Buchalter. He discarded one more card and Buchalter patted to then bet once more following a check by Lally. The Canadian opted to fold and Buchalter tabled the {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs} Badugi, then added he had a nine to go with it.

"I had ace deuce four," Lally replied and admitted that he "should have called."
