Schulman Survives Bubble

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Vojtech Ruzicka opened to 20,000 in the hijack and Nick Schulman jammed in his 41,000 stack on the button. Ruzicka called and they waited for the other tables to finish before revealing their hands.

Schulman was talkative and tried to come to terms with the possibility of him bubbling. He appeared to go through all of the stages of grief while waiting on the other tables to complete their hands as a crowd of cameras and other players gathered.

Eventually, only Schulman's table was left and hands were revealed.

Nick Schulman: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Ruzicka and most of the players in the room were looking for an ace. The flop came {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The turn was the {10-Hearts} to give Schulman a set but he still needed to fade a queen. The {a-Diamonds} came on the river to confirm Schulman's double as the tournament again continues hand-for-hand play.

"I'm sorry everybody," Schulman said jokingly. "You rats, you little greedy rats." Many in the room laughed as they dispersed back to their own seats.

Brinkenhoff Survives Bubble

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In the first hand back from dinner break, Michael Brinkenhoff had his 56,000 stack at risk against Nabil Cardoso.

"At least if I lose I can get a good night's sleep and get to bed before midnight", said Brinkenhoff.

Michael Brinkenhoff: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Nabil Cardoso: {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

The {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop put Cardoso ahead but gave Brinkenhoff a royal draw. The {9-Clubs} turn gave him a flush to keep him alive as the {6-Diamonds} completed the board, and hand-for-hand play continues.

Berkey Has the Better Two Pair

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

In a three-way pot on a board of {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, Matt Berkey checked in the cutoff and called a bet of 101,000 from Asi Moshe, while the player in the small blind folded.

Berkey checked again on the {3-Clubs} river and called when Moshe put out a bet of 99,000. Moshe showed two pair with {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} but it was no good against the better two pair of Berkey with {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Lin Doubles on Bubble

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Boris Kolev put Ren Lin all in and Lin called off his stack of about 160,000 fairly quickly. He needed to survive to avoid being the bubble boy. Once all other tables completed their hand, the players revealed their hands.

Ren Lin: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Boris Kolev: {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Lin was ahead and the {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop kept him well ahead. The {10-Spades} turn and {6-Spades} river kept him alive and in contention.

"No gamble, no future!" Lin yelled after doubling.

Yunis Over a Million as Bubble Nears

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Nick Yunis was in the small blind and already had 70,000 chips committed to the pot when Ben Diebold raised to 170,000 in the hijack. Yunis called.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Spades} and Yunis check-called for 80,000. Both players checked down the {10-Clubs} turn and {j-Clubs} river.

Yunis showed {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} which was good as Diebold mucked and Yunis added to his massive stack of chips.
