Three ways on a flop of , JJ Liu led out from the big blind and was called by the player in the cutoff. Another player on the button made it two bets and undeterred, Liu made it three bets. The player in the cutoff folded, and the button called.

Liu continued to bet and was called down on the turn and river. Liu tabled for the nut flush. Her opponent revealed , which was good for the low and the two chopped up the pot.

Liu, who registered late into Day 1, has accumulated nicely and is sitting on about 50,000 in chips.

After chopping a pot with him, Carol Fuchs stood up and asked that "Shaun Deeb is the nut low" be written in the blog.

She also dropped a word several times that looks similar to how her last name is spelt, to which a tablemate remarked, "that's the first time I've heard her curse all day!"

Dan Zack was just the victim of an unfortunate river card that cost him at least half the pot.

Zack in the small blind, and the big blind both check-called a bet from the button on a turn board that read .

The fell on the river. After the button bet again, Zack and the big blind both called again.

The button showed for a rivered straight to claim the high half of the pot.

The big blind showed to win the low half, after Zack frustratedly flashed for a counterfeited low draw and an unseen high hand which he mucked.

With late registration closed, the tournament has officially drawn a total of 607 entries and generated a prize pool of $810,345.

Of those, 92 places will get paid. A min-cash will be worth $2,400, while first place will take home a cool $163,252 in addition to a coveted WSOP bracelet.
