Addamo and Seidel Return As Top Stacks Heading Into Day 2 of $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed

Day 2 of Event #38: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed will begin shortly with 21 players who bagged chips in Day 1, along with any players who register before the late registration period ends at the start of the day. This high roller event promises to continue to see action from some of the best in the game at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

Michael Addamo (5,150,000) and Erik Seidel (3,730,000) will resume play with the two largest stacks by a sizable margin. Addamo tops the Australian all time money list with more than 14 million in career tournament earnings and will be attempting to add to that list and his two WSOP bracelets, while Seidel will be looking to continue adding to his stack today in an effort that he hopes will ultimately result in his tenth bracelet.

Other notables who have bagged a stack for Day 2 include Dan Smith (1,085,000), Seth Davies (430,000), Gal Yifrach (1,405,000), Stephen Chidwick (355,000), and Anthony Zinno (400,000), who has already won two bracelets during the 2021 WSOP.

Smiljkovic Picks Up Aces to Triple in First Hand of Day

Stephen Chidwick jammed in his stack of 355,000 from middle position, Johan Guilbert called from the small blind, and Daniel Smiljkovic called from the big blind for his remaining 180,000.

Smiljkovic found perhaps one of the easiest decisions of his life in the big blind of the first hand of the day and was looking to triple.

The board ran out to give Smiljkovic the triple and keep Chadwich around the same number of chips as he won the side pot.

Grafton Eliminated in Painful Fashion

Sam Grafton in the big blind was involved in a three-way all-in against Bin Weng in the cutoff and Chris Hunichen in the hijack, with Grafton being the shortest stack with about 250,000.

The flop of hit both Grafton and Hunichen in a massive way, giving Grafton top set and giving Hunichen the nut flush draw. But it was Weng who ended up scooping the pot as the board ran out to give him a set of jacks, and Grafton hit the rail in miserable fashion.

Addamo Picks Off a Bluff

Michael Addamo was in position in a heads-up pot against Scott Ball on a board reading . Ball checked and called when Addamo fired out a bet of 330,000.

Ball then led out for more than half of his stack with a bet of 800,000 on the river. Addamo looked confused and eventually tossed in a single orange chip for a call.

Ball tabled for a missed flush draw and Addamo raked in the pot with for jacks and fours.

The hand left Ball short and gave Addamo an even bigger chip lead.

Anthony Zinno shoved in his stack of 1,245,000 on the button and Sam Soverel thought about it in the big blind. He eventually called and the two revealed their hands.

Zinno told Soverel that he didn't necessarily have to call there and Chris Hunichen joked that they all knew Soverel would call with any pair.

The dealer spread the flop to vault Zinno in front. The turn gave Zinno trips and he still just needed to avoid a five, but the spiked the river as Soverel went wide-eyed and mouthed "Wow", while Zinno could only say "Good game, guys", and gracefully took his exit after the river beat.
