Day 2 of Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. belonged to one man: three-time bracelet winner Anthony Zinno.

Zinno finished the night with 2,565,000, more than one million ahead of his closest competitor, and in prime position to pick up his second bracelet of the 2021 WSOP and fourth overall. He knocked out two players in one hand to get over the two million chip barrier — at the time more than double the rest of the field — then made a straight flush in a pot against Randy Ohel to close out the session.

The day began with 199 players still in the mix and ended with only 18 still with their dreams of winning the coveted WSOP bracelet. In addition to Zinno, past bracelet winners Ohel (1,040,000), Max Pescatori (850,000), Joe McKeehen (835,000), and Ari Engel (300,000) are in the mix as well.

Trailing just behind Zinno on the leaderboard are Kao Saechao (1,495,000), Curtis Phelps (1,355,000), Darren Kennedy (1,330,000), and Paul Holder (1,160,000).

Not everyone was fortunate enough to survive the day. Phil Hellmuth was an early casualty, as were Chino Rheem, Barry Greenstein, and David "Bakes" Baker. Norman Chad was eliminated on the first hand of hand-for-hand play and split 90th-place prize money.

Once the money was reached, bustouts came in fast. Allen Kessler (71st), Jason Somerville (63rd), Shaun Deeb (49th), and Brian Hastings (48th) all finished in the money. Actor James Woods finished in 28th place, while 94-year-old Constantine Zdanowich was eliminated in 21st place.

Day 3 will resume tomorrow at 2 p.m. PST and play down to a winner. PokerNews will be on hand to provide all the live updates as a new WSOP bracelet winner is crowned.
