Day 2 of Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. belonged to one man: three-time bracelet winner Anthony Zinno.

Zinno finished the night with 2,565,000, more than one million ahead of his closest competitor, and in prime position to pick up his second bracelet of the 2021 WSOP and fourth overall. He knocked out two players in one hand to get over the two million chip barrier — at the time more than double the rest of the field — then made a straight flush in a pot against Randy Ohel to close out the session.

The day began with 199 players still in the mix and ended with only 18 still with their dreams of winning the coveted WSOP bracelet. In addition to Zinno, past bracelet winners Ohel (1,040,000), Max Pescatori (850,000), Joe McKeehen (835,000), and Ari Engel (300,000) are in the mix as well.

Trailing just behind Zinno on the leaderboard are Kao Saechao (1,495,000), Curtis Phelps (1,355,000), Darren Kennedy (1,330,000), and Paul Holder (1,160,000).

Not everyone was fortunate enough to survive the day. Phil Hellmuth was an early casualty, as were Chino Rheem, Barry Greenstein, and David "Bakes" Baker. Norman Chad was eliminated on the first hand of hand-for-hand play and split 90th-place prize money.

Once the money was reached, bustouts came in fast. Allen Kessler (71st), Jason Somerville (63rd), Shaun Deeb (49th), and Brian Hastings (48th) all finished in the money. Actor James Woods finished in 28th place, while 94-year-old Constantine Zdanowich was eliminated in 21st place.

Day 3 will resume tomorrow at 2 p.m. PST and play down to a winner. PokerNews will be on hand to provide all the live updates as a new WSOP bracelet winner is crowned.

Zinno Ends the Night With a Straight Flush

Nível 25

Limit Hold'em

On the last hand of the night, Anthony Zinno raised, then called a three-bet from Randy Ohel. Ohel bet the {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop and Zinno called.

Zinno took the lead on the {9-Clubs} turn and Ohel called to see the {2-Diamonds} on the river. Zinno bet again and Ohel called after a brief tank.

"Straight flush. Just giddy," Zinno said, turning over {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Anthony Zinno bet on fifth street and was called by Paul Holder to his immediate right. When Zinno bet again on sixth, Holder came back with a raise.

Zinno called, then both players checked seventh. Zinno had a pair of kings with {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{x-}, but Holder had him beat with {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for two pair, fives and deuces, to win the pot.

Nível 25

Seven Card Stud

John Holley: {x-}/{7-Spades}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}/{x-}
Koray Aldemir: {x-}/{a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}/{x-}

With two threes showing, John Holley bet on sixth street and was called by Koray Aldemir. Holley checked on seventh and Aldemir checked behind after a long pause.

Holley showed {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} for two pair, queens and threes. "That's good," Aldemir said as he mucked.

"I was trying to represent trip threes," Holley responded.
