The action over at the GGPoker network has been heating up over the last month, with the 2020 World Series of Poker Online at the halfway point of their 54 bracelet-offering throughout the summer. However, it's not all tournament poker that's drawing the eyeballs, as some of the highest cash games the online poker hasn't seen since the glory days of Full Tilt Poker are happening over there as well.

In a $500/$1,000 cash game with a $1,000 ante, Wiktor Malinowski — famed under his online moniker "limitless" — and Michael Addamo played the biggest NLHE cash game pot on record. The massive clash happened over at Natural8, part of the GGPoker network, in an invitation-only VIP cash game. Alongside Malinowski, Chris Brewer, Tan "4321" Xuan", and "UnderO", who resides in Malta, completed the line-up.

5 Things You Don’t Know About the WSOP Online on GGPoker

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Now through the first part of September, the WSOP Online will be exclusively on GGPoker, so whether you're playing on the client for the first time or you're a seasoned online pro, we thought we'd bring you five things you didn't know about the WSOP Online on GGPoker.

  • 1. STAKING on DAY 2:
    Poker fans and players can now buy a piece of their favourite player's action or sell their own should they survive Day 1 of phased tournaments.
  • 2. Convert Multiple Event Tickets into T$
    After the series has finished, your unused tickets will be exchanged for T$ that you can use to enter any tournament on GGPoker
  • 3. Pick Your Own WSOP Event
    When the WSOP Online schedule on GGPoker was announced, the poker community was intrigued to see a new type of bracelet event announced! Three 'People's Choice' events were announced, with the formats and buy-ins yet to be announced.
  • 4. Best Stack Forward
    Any player that makes it to the end of a Day 1 with a stack is allowed to take part in additional Day 1s if they want to, providing they have not exceeded the maximum number of re-entries.
    However, if a player finishes multiple Day 1s with chips, only the highest chip stack will go to Day 2.
  • 5. Take Advantage of Bubble Protection
    GGPoker's popular Bubble Protection is available throughout the WSOP Online. It's available for all non-phase events with buy-ins less than $999. This means that if you register before the start of play and go on to bubble the tournament, you'll receive your buy-in back.

George Wolff eliminated close to the bubble
George Wolff eliminated close to the bubble

Within a matter of minutes there were two eliminations on the same table as George Wolff and Thi "HoneyandTHI" Truong departed.

Wolff ran with the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} into the {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} of Alexey "Schollar" Altshuller when almost all chips went in preflop and the board ran out {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

Robert "MaltWhiskey" Garfield then busted and received his buy-in back thanks to the bubble protection whereas Sergey "EvPlo" Verkhoturov ended up as the bubble boy.

At nearly the same time, Truong got it in preflop against Mohsin "moeee" Virani for a pot of 431,490.

Mohsin "moeee" Virani: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Thi "HoneyandTHI" Truong: {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

On a board of {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}, Truong was drawing dead on the turn and became the first finisher in the money.
