Scott Seiver Leads Superstar Field After Day 1 of Event #41: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship

Nível 10 : 3,000/6,000, 700 ante

The first day of Event #41: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship has now come to an end, after ten levels of play. With 77 total entries, just under half the field survived, with 36 players bagging and tagging. The day brought a lot of action as anticipated for a Championship event and leading the way at the end of Day 1 is Scott Seiver with 329,000.

Seiver was one of many to register late for proceedings but instantly started to climb after taking a seat. He hovered around double the starting stack for the middle part of the day and it was not until Calvin Anderson sat down next to him that things started to really heat up. Anderson attempted to take Seiver off the pot and was showing the cards to sell the story, but Seiver was having none of it as he stuck around to the end with his two pair.

Coming in right behind the leader is three-time bracelet winner Scott Clements who built up a stack in the latter stages of the day and will be entering Day 2 with 290,000 as one of the most in-form players of the 2019 World Series so far. Greg Mueller is fresh from a WSOP bracelet win in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship and will be looking at another deep run here. Mueller jumped in about halfway through the day and instantly started to pile chips. The Canadian will be coming into the second day with 263,000 and will be looking to continue his heater after snagging his third bracelet just days ago.

Two standout fan favorites to find a bag are Eli Elezra and Daniel Negreanu. Both will be coming into the day with above average chips and have all the experience needed to build a powerful stack. Elezra took down his fourth bracelet just last week in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud and Negreanu sits on six of them. Watch for both of these poker superstars to make a deep run here in a Championship event.

Some other big stacks headed into Day 2 include Michael McKenna (245,500), Michael Mizrachi (234,000), Tom Koral (222,500), Bryce Yockey (204,000), Andrew Kelsall (202,000), and Max Pescatori (195,500).

The star-studded field was filled with bracelet winners and not all were fortunate enough to find a second day, some to take an exit on Day 1 include Shaun Deeb, Todd Brunson, Nick Schulman, John Monnette, David "Bakes" Baker, Brandon Shack-Harris, Adam Friedman, Jeff Lisandro, Brian Hastings, and Robert Mizrachi.

The players will be returning to 4,000/8,000 Limits on the second day at 2 p.m. and will have a total of seven levels to play, each being 90-minutes in length. There will be a ten-minute break after every level and some extended breaks may be added if needed. A 60-minute dinner break will happen after level 14 has completed, at around 8:30 p.m.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing you all the updates throughout this $10,000 Seven Card Stud tournament, so stay tuned to find out who wins the latest Championship event.
