Jeff Gross is among those returning to start the day

Of the 833 players who posted up the $1,500 entry into a new WSOP tournament in the Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty event, 125 will restart today at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

All those remaining in the field are also in the money and will begin at 2:00 P.M. local time and advance towards the coveted gold bracelet and the $141,161 prize up top.

Robert Oxenburg leads the remaining players with 210,300 in chips, however, Georgios Karavokyris is right on his heels with 207,000. Other notables in the fray today include Jeff Gross (28,600), Robert Mizrachi (23,600) and Benny Glaser (12,600).

In addition to the $1,421 min-cash secured to start the day, every contestant also has a hefty $500 bounty on their head.

This is one of eight new events to appear on the World Series of Poker schedule this year and despite not having a history here; the prize pool swelled to over 1.1 million drawing plenty of interest late into the summer series.

On the schedule for today are ten 60-minute levels, with a 15-minute break every two levels. There will also be a 60-minute dinner break after Level 6 (8:30p.m.). This event is played in the Miranda room.

Stay tuned here as the PokerNews team will be on hand the entire day to provide live updates on the action.

McAlpin Rivers a Flush and a Bounty

Nível 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Christina Mcalpin

With around 10,000 in the middle, Christina McAlpin check-called a bet of 16,000 from John Holley on a flop of {6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. On the {5-Diamonds} turn McAlpin checked and Holley shoved all-in for his last 17,500 sending McAlpin into the tank. "I hope this doesn't go in the middle too," joked Holley referencing his bounty chip. After a minute or so McAlpin announced the call. John Holley rolled over {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} for top set against McAlpin's {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Holley would need to fade a non-board-pairing heart on the river to stay alive. However the river fell the {3-Hearts} giving McAlpin the flush and another bounty chip as she moves past the 150,000 mark.

Painter Smudges Out Patel

Nível 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Jameson Painter
Jameson Painter

Jameson Painter bet 8,000 on the flop of an {8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} board after Talesh Patel checked out of the big blind. Patel raised pot having slightly less behind and Painter raised to get the rest.

Jameson Painter: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Talesh Patel: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}

Both had flopped huge hands and Patel was ahead until the {A-Clubs} turn. That gave Painter the bigger full house and the pot was secured after a meaningless {3-Spades} river.

Gross Grinds Down

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Jeff Gross

Poker pro and Twitch streamer Jeff Gross limped from under the gun plus one, a player in middle position limped behind, as did Alan Snow in the cutoff. Samuel Renshaw then raised it up to 10,000 on the button, Gross thought about it for a few seconds before tossing in the call, the player in middle position folded, and Snow made the call as well.

The action checked to Renshaw on the {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop who fired a bet of 20,000 which was for most of Gross's remaining stack. Gross pondered for a minute but decided on a fold, as did Snow, and Renshaw collected the pot.

McAlpin With a Double Knockout

Nível 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Maria Mcalpin
Maria Mcalpin

Christina McAlpin had both Christopher Doan and Bradley Coultas all in and at risk on a flop of {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} with around 200,000 in the middle.

Christina McAlpin: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Christopher Doan: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Bradley Coultas: {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Coultas and McAlpin had flopped second-nut and nut flush, respectively, and Doan with middle set needed the board to pair for him to stay alive.

The runout of {5-Spades}{8-Diamonds} proved no help and McAlpin scooped the pot with the two bounties.

Immediately following that hand, McAlpin's kings would be cracked by Anderson Ireland's {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, earning him a needed double.

Painter Doubles Through Williams

Nível 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Jameson Painter
Jameson Painter

On the flop of a {10-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board, Kristopher Bradshaw bet 11,000 and Jameson Painter flatted. David Williams raised to 60,000 and called the rest of Painter's three-bet shove worth 108,500 after Bradshaw folded.

Jameson Painter: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
David Williams: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}

Painter's two pair was best and immediately improved when the {10-Hearts} hit the turn. Williams was drawing dead and paid the double when the {4-Hearts} completed the board.

Chu Shoots Over a Million

Catching the action on the river in a large pot with around 50,000 in the middle, the board read {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Romain Lewis led out for 40,500 in the small blind, and Chris Meyers called in the big blind.

Hai Chu then raised on the button to 160,000, Lewis thought for a few moments before making the call, and Meyers went into the tank. After a few minutes, the clock was called, and after the 10 second countdown began, Meyers mucked his hand.

Chu rolled over {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for queens full of fives and Lewis mucked as Chu scooped the monster pot and eclipses the one million mark.

Meyers was eliminated a few hands later.

On a flop of {j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{a-Diamonds} Fernando Brunca shoved all-in for his remaining 51,500 into a pot of around 30,000 and the action was on Hai Chu who thought for a minute before making the call.

Fernando Brunca: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Hai Chu: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
