Hands #56-61: Bellande and His Wine
Hand #56: Andrew Graham limped in while Jean-Robert Bellande was opening the bottle of red wine that had been sitting idle on the table so far. According to Bellande, the bottle was going to be a reward to himself when/if he makes it to heads-up. But maybe the bottle was too tempting, or it needed some air, because Bellande was busy removing the wrapper.
In between opening the wine and talking to the rail, he casually raised to 400,000 from the big blind. Graham called. Graham then check-folded to a bet of 300,000 on .
Hand #57: Graham opened for 200,000 but folded to Bellande's 550,000 three-bet.
Hand #58: Bellande, now sniffing the freshly opened bottle, asked the dealer to deal him out because he was enjoying the smell. The dealer didn't oblige and Bellande raised to 225,000 from the button with the cards he received.
Dean Lyall three-bet to 650,000 from the small blind and Graham folded, Bellande called. Both checked on and the hit the turn. Lyall bet 350,000 and Bellande called.
The completed the board and Lyall checked. Bellande casually tossed in five 100,000-chips and Lyall called.
Bellande said it was a good call and mucked. Lyall followed his example and slid his cards face down into the muck as well.
Hand #59: Bellande received a walk in the big blind.
Hand #60: Graham opened the button for 200,000. Lyall called from the big blind and both checked on . The hit the turn and Lyall check-folded to a bet of 250,000.
Hand #61: Bellande opened the button for 200,000 and Graham called from the big blind. Graham checked on and Bellande bet 200,000. Graham raised to 625,000 and Bellande folded.
