Event #58: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed
Dia 1 Terminado
It was the who's who of the poker world that showed up for Day 1 of Event #58: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed and they filled the tables throughout the Amazon Room over the course of the day. After a full ten levels, it was Thomas Cannuli who emerged as the chip leader, bagging himself an impressive 286,000 chips.
Cannuli is a former 'November Niner', finishing in fifth place in the 2015 WSOP Main Event for over $1.4 million. The New Jersey native has 16 total cashes at the WSOP including a gold bracelet from the 2017 $3,333 Online Event. He will be followed by Andrew Graham (214,300) and Julian Milliard-Feral (201,900) who were the other two players to bag over 200,000 chips.
It was a slow start to the day as each table began with only two or three players seated when the cards were in the air. The number of entries quickly grew throughout the first couple of levels as notable names littered the Amazon Room for what some called "their favorite event of the summer". By the end of the day, there were a total of 595 players to take their seat for a chance at a World Series of Poker gold bracelet.
One of the early tables to watch included Alex Foxen, Mohsin Charania, and Jack Sinclair. Foxen started the day the same way the beginning of the year has been going for him, running up a stack to over four times the starting stack. However, things quickly fell apart and he joined Charania and Sinclair on the rail by the end of the day.
Another table to keep an eye on towards the end of the day included Romain Lewis (124,800), Jake Schindler (82,600), Parker Talbot (80,200), and Toby Lewis (49,900). All four managed to find a bag with Romain Lewis coming out on top. They will all surely be looking forward to a new seat draw beginning on Day 2.
Some other familiar faces moving on to Day 2 include Ivan Luca (159,400), Asi Moshe (153,300), Robert Mizrachi (140,700), Jan-Eric Schwippert (129,200), Martin Finger (121,000), and Liv Boeree (114,800). Boeree was one of the later entries on the day but still managed to pick up quite a few chips after some aggressive four-bets helped build her some pots.
The day was not so kind to everyone, however, as many pros were sent to the rail early and often. Final tablist from last year, Faraz Jaka was eliminated before the first break in a cooler hand. David Benyamine also hit the rail early on after running a full house into a bigger full house that left him on a super short stack. Other names to fall throughout the day include Jason Somerville, Ryan Laplante, Darren Elias, Daniel Negreanu, Michael Mizrachi, Kristen Bicknell, Jonathan Little, and Eric Baldwin.
The action is scheduled to resume at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow with late registration remaining open until the cards are in the air. For those players looking to still enter the field, they will be given a starting stack of 25,000 chips with the blinds resuming on level 11 at 600/1,200 and a 200 ante. Day 2 will consist of another ten 60-minute levels with those lucky enough to find a bag moving on to Day 3.

After arriving at the table with the full board on the table reading , the small blind led out for 12,600 into a pot of around 26,000. Valentin Vornicu was in the cutoff and jammed all in for exactly 44,000.
His opponent asked for a count and then went into the tank for a couple of minutes.
"Will you show me if I fold?" he asked, but Vornicu sat still and silent while Dan Smith and Scott Seiver discussed their dinner plans.
After a few minutes, the small blind eventually mucked his cards and Vornicu raked in the pot.

It has just been announced that there will be three more hands before play is halted for Day 1.
Marvin Karlins was delighted to get a double, after he described being on the receiving end of many coolers today. He held with against on a and should finish the day in a very nice spot.

The last level has begun at 1:00 a.m. in Las Vegas and Scott Seiver is all about making poker fun again. He ordered the whole table a round of beers that includes Asi Moshe and Anthony Spinella, including the empty seat to Seiver's right.
"Give me three-to-one that the next person to sit here will drink the beer," Seiver said to Moshe. As the five players took a sip of their drink, Dan Smith approached from the table behind and snagged the beer.
"Dan, did you just this guy's beer?" Seiver shouted.
"F*ck that guy, I'm thirsty!" Smith responded as he ordered another round to close out the night.
