Hamm Cooked

Nível 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Clayton Hamm was just now all in before the flop with his last 25,000 or so with {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and up against Justas Semaska's {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. At the sight of his opponent's queens, Hamm stood to leave, and five cards later -- {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades} -- he was on his way out of the Amazon.

After collecting the last of Hamm's stack, Semaska bumps up to 92,000.

Sexton Slips

When we arrived at Table 368, the board read {9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and Mike Sexton was faced with a 1,800-chip bet from Charles Ritchie. Sexton check-raised to 4,200, and Ritchie called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}, and Sexton tossed out two orange T5,000 chips saying, "Eight thousand."

Ritchie raised to 20,200, sending Sexton into the tank. He grimaced, and eventually mucked is cards.

Arias Doubles

Jorge Arias opened for 1,150 in the cutoff and only the button called as the two saw a {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop come down. Arias check-called a bet of 2,350 and then checked again when the {4-Clubs} hit the turn. The button bet 60,000 and Arias called all in for less.

Arias: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Button: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Arias was behind but had outs with his pair and flush draw against the button’s overpair. The {9-Hearts} on the river was one of those outs as it gave Arias trips and the double up. After it was counted out, Arias had 29,700 and the button paid what he owed.

Lindgren Rumbles Then Stumbles

As we reported before, Erick Lindgren started today with only 3,700 chips and he has been as high as 17,000 but just lost a pot that put him back down to 11,000.

A player in early position raised it up to 1,525 and Erick Lindgren from the big blind called. The flop came down {8-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Lindgren checked to the early position player who bet out 1,800. Lindgren made the call and the two saw the {6-Diamonds} river. Again, Lindgren checked and this time his opponent bet out 2,600. Lindgren thought but eventually tossed out a call and mucked as soon as he saw the other player's {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Lindgren is still very short, but hanging around.

Minieri Loses Some; Wins Some

Dario Minieri playing during Day 1b
Dario Minieri playing during Day 1b

In the first hand of a two-part Dario Minieri series, Maxim Lykov opened to 1,200 from middle position and was called by Minieri in from the cutoff. Everyone else folded.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Lykov c-bet for 1,800. Minieri sat stoically for a bit and then pushed out a raise to 4,100. Lykov made the call.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and Lykov led right out for 5,100. Minieri let his hand go.

In the very next hand, Minieri opened to 1,200 from the hi-jack and was only called by the player on the button.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Minieri c-bet for 1,450. His opponent called.

The {4-Hearts} fell on the turn and Minieri fired again - this time for 2,650. His opponent came along.

The {A-Spades} completed the board and Minieri deliberated for a while before firing a hefty 10,200 bet into the middle - completing the four-barrel blast.

"Nice hand," Minieri's opponent offered as he mucked his hand.

After the two hands, Minieri is sitting with 70,000. Lykov is back up to 65,000.

Devilfish Getting Busy

David "Devilfish" Ulliott raised to 1,500 from middle position and received a call from the player on the button. The blinds cleared out and it was heads-up action to the {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop. The Devilfish continued his aggression with a bet of 3,000, the button called, and the {Q-Diamonds} hit the turn.

Again Ulliott bet, this time 6,000, and the button just called. Both players proceeded to check the {10-Clubs} river and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Devilfish: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Button: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Ulliott's pair of nines were good and he took down the pot to chip up to 85,000.

D’Angelo vs. Bellande

We caught up with the action on a {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop where Ryan D’Angelo in the small blind check-called a bet of 2,500 from Jean-Robert Bellande who was under the gun. When the {Q-Diamonds} hit the turn, D’Angelo led out for 5,600 and Bellande just called. The river was the {J-Spades} and D’Angelo asked to see a look at Bellande’s stack before he bet 6,800. Bellande signed and rubbed his face before he flicked his cards in for a fold as D’Angelo took down the pot. Bellande hasn’t been off to a good start so far today and has dropped below the starting stack while D’Angelo has chipped up his already large to begin with stack.

Oppenheim Drops One

A player in middle position raised and action folded around to David Oppenheim in the big blind who made the call. The dealer spread out a {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop and action was on Oppenheim who checked. Oppenheim's opponent then bet out 1,600 and received a call from Oppie.

The {j-Clubs} turn slowed down both players as they both knocked the felt for checks. A river {7-Clubs} brought an aggressive Oppenheim who bet out 2,500. A call was made and Oppenheim showed a meekly {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a busted flush draw while his opponent flipped over {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a winning two pair, kings and jacks.

Booth Losing Ground

Brad Booth started the day with 109,000, but he has slowly been losing chips throughout the day. We just caught the end of a hand that has dropped him below 70,000. The board read out {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, and there was about 15,000 in the pot. Booth checked to his opponent, who bet out 7,200. Booth gave it about 30 seconds of thought before tossing in the call, and immediately regretted when he saw his opponent had {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a turned set rivered full house. Booth mucked his hand, and is still looking to get things going in the right direction today.
