The RunGood Poker Series Road Trip $1,000 Main Event Begins at 3:15 p.m.
For the first time this year, The RunGood Poker Series has returned to JACK Casino in Cleveland, Ohio. The series included eight ring events including a $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship that will begin on Sunday, and the $1,000 RGPS Main Event with $400,000 prize pool guarantee, beginning today at 3:15 p.m. local time.
Last year when the tour came to this casino, an $800 main event saw a total of 712 entrants come out to play, creating a prize pool of $491,280. This saw the final three players make a deal for a part of the prizepool and after a little bit more play, Derek Bowers ended up winning $86,560 for his first RGPS title. With a slightly upped buy in this year, time will tell to see if Bowers will defend his title.

This week so far has seen plenty of RunGood ambassadors come out to play and collect trophies. Players like Emily Berglund, Nick Rigby, Daniel Hughes, Michael Lech, and WSOP Main Event champion Greg Raymer have all made appearances this week and will likely appear at some point during the main event.
Players will start the tournament with 30,000 chips. Blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante, with levels lasting 40 minutes. A break will occur after every three levels. Play will complete when the field reaches level 18, or when just 13.5% of the field remains.

The flop came out 7♥Q♦9♥ which saw players check around to the turn 4♠ that saw Contreras bet 1,500 which both players called.
On the river J♣, Contreras bet 5,000 which elicited two quick folds as he took in a sizable early tournament pot.

Action was picked up on the turn in a pot between Anthony Carbone in the small blind and Robert Shega in first position.
With a board reading 9♠4♠2♦8♦, Carbone checked over to Shega who bet 3,000 and Carbone called.
On the K♦ river, Carbone led out for 9,500 and Shega called quickly.
Carbone turned over 9♦6♦ for a rivered flush and Shega frustratingly flashed 4♦4♥ for a set of fours before tossing his hand into the muck.

After some thought, James raised to 3,500 which elicited a quick fold from Hounshell which gave an early pot to James.
