Kanit Takes Chip Lead Into Day 2; Antonius In on The Action Again

Nível 17 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante
Mustapha Kanit
Mustapha Kanit

Day 1 of the partypoker MILLIONS Germany €50,000 Super High Roller has ended with 8 players of the 47 initial entries continuing their road to victory and that first prize of €800,000. The third and last Super High Roller on the schedule attracted 36 unique players with 11 of them having had to reenter after failing to win an all-in. Leading the pack with the biggest stack is Mustapha Kanit with 11,475,000 chips.

The tournament started with a slight delay to give the high stakes players a chance to join the action. As expected, the Germans made up a big chunk of the entries as nine of the nineteen players that entered during the first level of play came from Germany. Timothy Adams was the first player of the day that had to reenter after he lost most of his stack when his jack-nine lost to the king-jack of Jean-Noel Thorel. Adams then lost the rest to Daniel Pidun with ace-queen against queen-jack when Pidun hit the jack on the flop. But his reentry went a lot better as he has taken 10,555,000 with him to the final table tomorrow.

Kanit was last to enter the tournament and in his opinion that’s the best way to win tournaments. The talkative Italian will be looking to add another high roller win to his already impressive resume. Patrik Antonius is also through to tomorrow with 3,035,000 chips. The Finn already won the first Super High Roller on Saturday but needed his second bullet today to finish with another shot at a title and trophy.

Also through to tomorrow are Tobias Ziegler (7,830,000), Chi Zhang (4,895,000), Felipe Ramos (3,440,000), Dietrich Fast and ”Big Tony” (1,665,000)

Unfortunately, not everyone made it through to Day 2, Johannes Becker winner of the second Super High Roller lost all his chips when he ran his ace-queen into the queens of Ziegler. The partypoker Ambassadors Patrick Leonard, Joao Simao, Sam Trickett, and Team partypoker's Philipp Gruissem all failed to make it to through to the final table.

Action will continue tomorrow at noon local time and the players will be starting on Level 18 with the 80,000/160,000/160,000 blinds and button ante. Levels will last 40 minutes until the final six players have been reached. The levels will then increase to 60-minutes each. When the heads-up starts, the levels will be shortened. The live stream will start on a 30-minute delay with hole cards and is scheduled to start at 12:30 pm local time.

Only six players will be in the money and a min-cash will be worth €130,000. This is what they will be playing for:

Becker Busts to Ziegler

Nível 16 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Johannes Becker
Johannes Becker

At the very end of the level, Tobias Ziegler raised to 250,000 from early position and a short-stacked Johannes Becker moved all in for approximately 2.0 million out of the big blind. Ziegler took a few seconds only and called.

Johannes Becker: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Tobias Ziegler: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Ziegler had one over card and both suits as live card to deal the final blow to Becker, and the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop brought exactly that as Becker went from favorite to the massive underdog with just one out. The {8-Diamonds} turn didn't change anything yet, and the {8-Spades} river sent Becker to the rail in 9th place.

Big Tony Catapults Tsoukernik Out

Nível 15 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Leon Tsoukernik
Leon Tsoukernik

The flop read {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Big Tony (small blind), Timothy Adams (big blind) and Leon Tsoukernik (under-the-gun) were in the hand. Big Tony and Adams had both checked but Tsoukernik shoved. Capobianco called and Adams immediately folded.

Big Tony: {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Leon Tsoukernik: {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Big Tony had flopped trip fives and Tsoukernik was searching for another club to complete his flush draw.

The turn brought them the {j-Diamonds} and the river was the {8-Spades}. No help for Tsoukernik as he was eliminated from the tournament.

Nitsche Can't get Antonius to Fold

Nível 13 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Dominik Nitsche raised to 155,000 and Patrik Antonius called out of the big blind. On the {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Antonius checked and called a bet worth 150,000 by Nitsche before checking again the {A-Clubs} on the turn. Nitsche fired a second barrel of 450,000 and the Finn called.

The {8-Spades} river completed the board and Antonius checked for the third street in a row. Nitsche moved all in for his last 1.255 million and Antonius had a decision ahead. After plenty of consideration he called and Nitsche announced an ace before rolling over the {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Antonius had that beat with {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} for the better kicker and jumped into the top spot.

Joao Simao moved all in for his last 450,000 first to act and Timothy Adams called on the button.

Joao Simao: {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Timothy Adams: {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Not only had the partypoker ambassador two live cards to keep his Super High Roller final table streak alive, he also flopped the world on {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} only for the {9-Spades} turn and {Q-Spades} river to blank off and eliminate Simao.

Three-Way All-In Win Goes to Ziegler; Kaiser Out

Nível 12 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Ronny Kaiser
Ronny Kaiser

Patrik Antonius raised to 125,000 from early position, Ronny Kaiser shoved all in for 1,060,000 in total from mid-position. Jean-Noel Thorel called from the cutoff. Tobias Ziegler also shoved all in for 1,830,000 in total. Antonius quickly folded and Thorel called.

Tobias Ziegler: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Ronny Kaiser: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {J-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs} - Ziegler's kings held and he's now sporting an above average stack. Kaiser was sent to the rail in 16th place.

Gruissem Busts to Tsoukernik; Two Tables Remain

Nível 12 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Leon Tsoukernik open-shoved into table neighbor Philipp Gruissem and the latter called it off for what appeared to be 700,000.

Philipp Gruissem: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Leon Tsoukernik: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Gruissem was in dire shape and needed running hearts or runner runner cards for a full house in order to avoid the elimination. However, the {5-Spades} turn left him drawing dead and the {6-Clubs} river was a mere formality. "Sorry man," Tsoukernik said over to Gruissem, who was eliminated in 17th place. The remaining 16 hopefuls will redraw to the last two tables momentarily.

Sontheimer No More

Nível 10 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

The Super High Roller tournaments at the King's Casino in Rozvadov have not been kind to Steffen Sontheimer, as the German high stakes regular re-entered in each of them without anything to show for. Sontheimer was also on bullet number two in the €50,000 Super High Roller and he just got his last 445,000 in from the button. Timothy Adams called out of the small blind, while Patrik Antonius in the big blind folded.

Steffen Sontheimer: {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Timothy Adams: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

On the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop, Julian Thomas grabbed the {5-Diamonds} and pushed it closer to the board with the {3-Diamonds} turn indeed giving Sontheimer a flush draw. However, the {K-Hearts} on the river was of no help and Sontheimer was eliminated.

Machon Enters; Nitsche Departs

Nível 9 : 15,000/35,000, 35,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Bartlomiej Machon entered in the last possible level while Dominik Nitsche will gave to fire a second bullet in order to take a shot at the juicy prize pool. Julian Thomas raised and then faced the all ins of Nitsche on the button for 755,000 and Ronny Kaiser in the small blind for 1.255 million. Dietrich Fast in the big blind called, while Thomas folded.

Dominik Nitsche: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Ronny Kaiser: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Dietrich Fast: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

On the {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Thomas said "I knew it" before turning silent on the {Q-Spades} turn, which gave Kaiser a deadlock on the hand. A meaningless {5-Spades} on the river was a mere formality and Kaiser sent Nitsche to the rail while more than doublinh his own stack as a result.

Bustouts; a Double and a Re-Entry

Nível 6 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Chi Zhang
Chi Zhang

Julian Thomas doubled through Dominik Nitsche when his {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} held up against the ace-king of Nitsche on a board of {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Soon after, Daniel Pidun and his brother Thomer were eliminated in quick succession and Sam Trickett ran out of chips, while Adrian Mateos re-entered on his second bullet.

Thomer Pidun raised to 45,000 from the cutoff and called a three-bet by Chi Zhang in the small blind for 118,000 in total. The flop fell {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Zhang continued for 100,000, Pidun called. On the {10-Hearts} turn, Zhang made it 155,000 to go and Pidun tossed in a call. After the {6-Spades} river, Zhang checked and called the shove of Pidun for 612,000.

Pidun rolled over {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for a full house and Zhang had that beat with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for the superior full house. Zhang then took on Orpen Kisacikoglu right after, raising to 50,000 on the button and receiving a call. Kisacikoglu ended up paying off a bet of Zhang for 140,000 on the {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} river and mucked when the Brit flashed {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for a pair of kings.

A quick glance to the next table revealed Daniel Pidun all in for around 340,000 with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Antonello Capobianco called with the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}. The bord came {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Pidun's nines were cracked.
