Day 1b of the Super MILLION$ Main Event Kicks Off at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) at GGPoker

GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week
GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week

Welcome to the Day 1a coverage of the $10,300 Super MILLION$ Main Event at GGPoker starting at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) as part of the GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week.

The GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week features a huge $30 million in guaranteed prizes across 31 events.

GGPoker really stepped it up a notch with the festival's crown jewel in the Super MILLION$ Main Event. This event boasts a $10,300 buy-in along with a massive $10 million guarantee for double the $5 million guarantee this event featured as part of High Rollers Week in November.

What's even more, is that it seems likely that the $10 million guarantee is merely a placeholder as it is on pace to blow well past this figure with 307 entrants already getting into the action on Sunday's Day 1a and the tournament needing 1,000 entrants to meet the guarantee.

Italy's Luigi "shadinho94" Shehadeh, playing at GGPoker under a Tunisian flag, easily finished on top of the leaderboard of the 41 Day 1a survivors after parlaying his 100,000 opening stack more than 27-fold into a 2,705,791 in chips.

Others were less than lucky than Shehadeh and will have to try again in order to advance to Day 2 including GGPoker Ambassadors Fedor Holz and Anatoly Filatov.

Super MILLION$ Main Event Structure

The Super MILLION$ Main Event boasts four opening flights on Feb. 28, March 2, March 6, and March 7. The tournament will be played eight-handed throughout Day 1 with the eventual final table slated as a nine-max affair.

Players will begin the action with a 100,000 starting stack, good for 200 big blinds to begin the day. Blind levels will increase slowly at every 20-minutes and there will be a six-minute break every 55-minutes past the hour.

Players will have plenty of chances to build a monster stack as they can re-enter an unlimited amount of times during the long 16-level late-registration window during each of the four opening flights. Each opening flight will end after 22 blind levels are in the books.

Surviving opening flight players will then battle it out on Day 2 on Monday, March 8 at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) and conclude when just nine players remain. Randy "nanonoko" Lew and Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi will host a live stream of the final table when it kicks off the following day at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) at the GGPoker YouTube channel.

This dynamic duo will also be commentating on the final table of another big event in the $2.5 million guaranteed Event #6: $25,500 Super High Roller on March 2 at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST).

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing all of the action as the day unfolds, so stay tuned starting at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST)!

HIggins Out on a Cooler

Nível 2 : 300/600, 75 ante

Simon Higgins' recharged chip stack didn't last long as a few hands later all of those chips went over to Rodrigo Selouan.

Higgins opened for 1,260 from early position before he called a three-bet to 4,500 by Selouan from the cutoff.

Higgins check-called a bet of 3,465 after the {q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} came on the flop. He then check-called a bet of 13,373 after the {5-Clubs} followed on the turn.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Higgins jammed for 56,664. Selouan called.

Higgins turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a set of ladies but lost all of his chips after Selouan turned over {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a straight.

Fedor Holz Challenges Wiktor Malinowski to Heads-Up Battle

Nível 3 : 400/800, 100 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

For a guy confident enough to recently issue an open challenge to play nearly anyone in the world at any stakes, Wiktor "limitless" Malinowski seems to be receiving a surprising number of takers.

While Malinowski remains in the midst of a lengthy heads-up challenge against Stefan "Stefan11222" Burakov on PokerStars, tournament legend Fedor Holz announced he wants in on the action.

"Yo, Wiktor, what's up?" Holz said in a video posted to Twitter. "I see you're getting crushed by Stefan in your heads-up challenge. How's that going? My condolences.

"Before he takes all your money, I want to get back to that offer you made on Joe [Ingram's] podcast. To play me drunk whenever I want, whatever stakes I want. So, yeah, let's f****** do it, I challenge you."

Angelou-Konstas Ousts Selouan with Full House Over Full House

Nível 7 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Rodrigo Selouan limped from the small blind before Ioannis Angelou-Konstas raised to 6,400. Selouan raised to 18,400 and Angelou-Konstas called.

Selouan fired out for 9,600 after the {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs} came on the flop and got a call. He was called again after leading out for 28,800 on the {10-Spades} turn.

The {9-Clubs} double-paired the board on the river and Selouan bet 28,800. Angelou-Konstas jammed for 99,033 for slightly more than his opponent had behind and got a quick call.

Selouan turned over {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for a full house but lost all his chips to Angelou-Konstas, who held {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a better full house.

Angelou-Konstas took the chip lead after the hand for the first lead change in several blind levels.

Watson Rivers Broadway

Nível 12 : 1,800/3,600, 450 ante

Michael Watson opened for 7,200 from early position. He was called by Ludovic "Gr4vyB04t" Geilich from middle position and Jans Arends from the cutoff.

Sam Greenwood three-bet to 45,000 from the button and Watson four-bet jammed for 129,436. Geilich and Arends folded, while Greenwood made the call.

Michael Watson: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Sam Greenwood: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
