Lache Bags Day 1b Chip Lead; GGPoker Ambassador Filatov Advances

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Anatoly Filatov
Anatoly Filatov

The Super MILLION$ $10,300 Main Event is the crown jewel of Super MILLION$ Week at GGPoker with the event boasting a massive $10 million guarantee.

Day 1b is now in the books and it contributed 142 entries to bring the total field size up to 449 entrants with two more opening flights to go on Saturday, March 6, and Sunday, March 7.

After 22 blind levels of 20-minutes each, the Day 1b field size was trimmed down to just 18 players with Romania's Vlad-Stefan "HaiFanFan" Lache, playing at GGPoker under an Uruguayan flag, easily ending Day 1b as the chip leader after parlaying his 100,000 opening stack more than 28-fold into a 2,818,433 in chips.

This put him inches ahead of Day 1a chip leader Luigi "shadinho94" Shehadeh who will bring in 2,705,791 into Day 2.

Lache was cruising either as the chip leader or closely nearby almost the entire way on Day 1b. He cemented his status near the end of the day in a massive hand against Ukraine's Vlad Martynenko where he got three streets of value flopping a set and improving to a full house with kings against ace-queen suited with an ace also on the board.

Four big names also joined Lache in bagging seven-figure stacks on Day 1b including Thomas Muehloecker (second - 1,943,839), Alex Foxen (third - 1,810,137), Michael Zhang (fourth - 1,234,272), and Wiktor Malinowski (fifth - 1,177,850), who has a what promises to be an epic drunken heads-up battle against Fedor Holz in the works.

Meanwhile, GGPoker Ambassador Anatoly Filatov will advance to Day 2, although it will be with just an eight big blind stack unless he tries to improve his position on Day 1c and, if necessary, Day 1d as the tournament allows the best stack forward for players that already qualified to Day 2.

Others booking their tickets to Day 2 from the Day 1b field included Wei Zhao, Elio Fox, Isaac Haxton, Alexandros Kolonias, Ioannis "Chitirijr" Droushiotis, Juan Dominguez,David Szep, Ian "potamophobia" Matakis, Francisco "VaPaCooler" Benitez, Blaz Zerjav, Arsenii Karmatckii, and David Yan.

Not everything worked out for many of the players in the Day 1b field including for David Peters. Just before the end of the day, Peters jammed with queens and seemed to be in a good spot to double after Zhang got in with sixes. A six hit the board and Peters will have to re-enter on Day 1c (March 6), and/or Day 1d (March 7) to have a chance to advance to Day 2.
