Early Hit to Troyanovskiy

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We recently found Florian Ravier and Vladimir Troyanovskiy engaged in a hand were the board read {9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}. Florian was first to act and he checked his action over to Troyanovskiy.

Troyanovskiy dipped into his stack and came out with a bet of 850. Ravier thought for a brief moment before opting to check-raise the action to 2,200 total. This move put the pressure back on Troyanovskiy and in the end he decided that the price was too high. Troyanosvkiy flung his cards into the muck and Ravier pulled in the pot.

Rudnik Back to Starting Stack

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

On a table with Konstantin Puchkov, Efim Rudnik just doubled back to slightly more than starting stack after being all in with {Q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} after a board of {J-Spades} {4-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}. The cards of the opponent were already mucked and Rudnik as well as Puchkov talked in Russian, though the straight of Rudnik was good enough to scoop the pot and is around 32,000 in chips.

Early Pot For Nassif

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

In the early stages of a tournament the pots are generally small as players feel each other out and get into their stride, not wanting to take too many risks with their stack. Occasionally though there is an interesting hand that isn’t necessarily about what cards the players are holding.

There was an open to 300 from a mid-position player and PokerStars Team Online pro Gabriel Nassif made the call as did the player in the big blind.

The flop was {2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and the initial raiser made it 725. Nassif made the call and the big blind then folded. The turn card {7-Hearts} saw a further call from Nassif, this time the bet went up to 1,500. The river card {a-Spades} completed the board and now the initial raiser checked. Nassif gave it a few moments thought before taking 2,000 from his stack and making the wager. His opponent let his hand go and Nassif took the pot.

The cards remained unseen but Nasif no doubt gathered vital early information on his opponent as well as a welcome early pot.

Teichert Fires Twice

Nikolaus Teichert
Nikolaus Teichert

Nikolaus Teichert raised to 300 and got called by the player in the big blind to see the flop of {10-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {5-Spades}. Teichert fired 300 and was called before making it another 500 to go after the {9-Spades} turn. Once again the opponent called and Teichert than checked behind the {A-Spades} river. The player in the small blind showed {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} for a straight and the World Series of Poker bracelet winner from Germany mucked.

5,000!

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The 5,000 chips are the biggest chips in play. Literally, because they are bigger than the other chips.

Just now we spotted one on the ground. We notified a dealer, who notified floor Luca Vivaldi.

Luca went on to investigate and found a dead stack worth 25,000, which should be 30,000. Case closed.

Bielskis Cuts Chetrit in Half

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Lithuanian Andrius Bielskis is off to a remarkable start early in the first level of play. We recently witnessed a hand where he cut the stack of France's Michael Chetrit in half.

With more than 7,000 already in the middle, Chetrit and Bielskis looked down at a board of {Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Chetrit had first action and he flung out a bet of 5,050. Bielskis waited for only a brief moment before reaching for calling chips.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Chetrit slowed with a check. Bielskis tossed out a single 5,000 chip and found a quick call from Chetrit. Bielskis confidently rolled over {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a flopped set of sixes. Chetrit stopped in his tracks, gave his head a small shake, and flung {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} at the muck face up. Bielskis was awarded the pot and now has about 49,000 to his name.

The tournament director has announced that stacks for seats 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 are now in play. If you have a seat assignment for one of those you will be paying the blinds.

This was followed by a reminder that during a hand it is English only at the table as per the EPT rules.
