Welcome to Day 1 of the 2020 EPT Online 02: $10,300 PLO [6-Max, PLO High Roller]

The PokerStars flagship live tournament festival has moved to the virtual arena for the first time as the 2020 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Online takes place from November 8th to 18th. On the first day of the festival, three tournaments kick off and that includes Event #02 $10,300 PLO [6-Max, PLO High Roller] as of 2.05 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) with a guarantee of $500,000. However, only one champion will be crowned today as the four card aficionados will return the following day in order to play down to a winner.

With a five-figure price tag to enter, some of poker's biggest names can be expected to battle for the EPT title and that certainly includes the Hungarian duo of Andras "probirs" Nemeth and Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas, who can regularly be found at the PLO final tables. Other notables who may very well join the action are Ola "Odd_Oddsen" Amundsgard, Sweden's "jedimaster82", Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro, Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen, Mike "SirWatts" Watson, Niklas "Lena900" Astedt and Ludovic "ludovi333" Geilich to name all but a few of the usual PLO suspects.

Each entrant receives 100,000 in chips and the blinds kick off at 250-500 with each level until the final table lasting 20 minutes. The event is played in a 6-max format with a late registration of 4 hours and 45 minutes, during which all players can re-enter up to three times. Once the registration closes, the prize pool confirmation will be announced and the race to the money and beyond will continue until the seven-handed final table has been reached.

All finalists will then bag and tag their virtual chips for the night and return the following day at 2.05 p.m. EST (8.05 p.m. CET) to play for the first EPT PLO online title in the history of the tour. Stay tuned to find out who makes the cut as the PokerNews live reporting team will be there from start to finish.

"XD89lol<3" made it 2,100 to go on the button and was called by Espen "locomi" Myrmo in the small blind. The {k-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop brought no betting action and a Myrmo bet of 1,200 on the {5-Clubs} turn was called. On the {2-Spades} river, Myrmo bet 7,200 and folded when "XD89lol<3" raised the pot to 28,800.

One hand later, Ludovic "ludovi333" Geilich limped the small blind and called a raise to 2,400 by Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen in the big blind. Geilich check-called for 2,400 on the {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop and check-raised the {7-Hearts} turn from 6,336 to 21,875, which Torbergsen called.

Geilich then bet the {q-Diamonds} river for 36,875 and picked up a call to reveal {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} for tens full of sevens as the winning hand.

Bujtas Busts to Lau

Bujtas eliminated by Lau
Bujtas eliminated by Lau

A raise to 3,000 by "NIzkm9" was called by Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas in the small blind and Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau raised the 12,000 from the big blind. Only Bujtas came along and check-jammed for 56,032 on a {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, which Lau called after he had invested 27,000.

Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Both players had straight draws and Bujtas was alive with two back door flush draws as well. However, the {5-Diamonds} turn and {j-Hearts} river provided no help.

WhySoS€rious eliminated by Hollink

Rob "batoelrob" Hollink made it 3,000 to go as the first player to act and he was called by "VeniVidi1993" in the cutoff. "WhySoS€rious" in the small blind had other plans and three-bet to 13,200, Hollink then raised the pot to 43,800 and was called only by "WhySoS€rious".

On the {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, "WhySoS€rious" jammed for 35,137 and Hollink came along with the superior stack.

"WhySoS€rious": {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Rob "batoelrob" Hollink: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The {6-Clubs} turn and {6-Diamonds} river failed to improve "WhySoS€rious", instead Hollink made quads sixes to deal the final blow.

Myrmo eliminated by XD89lol<3

Espen "locomi" Myrmo three-bet out of the small blind and called a four-bet to 49,600 by initial raiser "XD89lol<3" to see a flop of {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}, on which he bet the pot for 100,800 with 12,726 behind and called all-in when facing a raise.

Espen "locomi" Myrmo: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
"XD89lol<3": {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}

Myrmo had live cards to crack the aces but the {4-Clubs} turn and {2-Hearts} river were not among them. Fellow countryman Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen was also felted just prior and has not re-entered yet while Myrmo fired the third entry right away.

Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau made it 12,250 to go and Andriy "Andre_Hansen" Lyubovetskiy three-bet to 40,250 in the small blind, which Lau called. On a flop of {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Lyubovetskiy bet the pot for 84,000 with 45,030 behind and called all-in once Lau had min-raised.

Andriy "Andre_Hansen" Lyubovetskiy: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The {9-Clubs} turn left Lyubovetskiy with just four outs as he needed a ten for a superior straight but the {7-Diamonds} river was a blank.

Bujtas Busts to Lau in Huge Pot

Nível 12 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

A button raise to 10,800 by Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau kicked off the action and Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas came along from the big blind. Bujtas elected to check-call 16,000 on the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop and another 48,000 on the {7-Clubs} turn.

The {8-Hearts} fell on the river and Bujtas checked once more. Lau now made it 58,000 to go only for Bujtas to rip it in for 210,983, which sent the Spaniard into the think tank. Eventually, Lau called with the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} for the ten-high straight and caught Bujtas with the fingers in the cookie jar, holding just {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Amundsgard eliminated by Goya
Amundsgard eliminated by Goya

On a flop of {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, the chips of Ola "Odd_Oddsen" Amundsgard in the big blind and Christopher "Apotheosis92" Kruk went in with the latter at risk.

Christopher "Apotheosis92" Kruk: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Ola "Odd_Oddsen" Amundsgard: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Amundsgard held the superior flush draw and an open-ender but Kruk instead secured the double with the {6-Clubs} turn and {a-Clubs} river.

Two hands later, Amundsgard was then at risk before the flop against Dante "dantegoyaF" Goya.

Ola "Odd_Oddsen" Amundsgard: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Dante "dantegoyaF" Goya: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}

No case deuce or one of the remaining two jacks appeared, yet Amundsgard was sent to the rail on a {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} runout.

Another three hands later on the same table, Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski defended the big blind and got it in after the {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop in a battle of the short stacks with Joao "Naza114" Vieira.

Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Joao "Naza114" Vieira: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The {2-Hearts} turn and {5-Clubs} river both bricked to eliminate Dzivielevski in 16th place.
