Gecui Gets Huge Bluff Through to Surge To Top

Nível 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Tudor Gecui
Tudor Gecui

There was a massive pot of close to 400,000 in the middle spotted as action was already on the river with a board reading {8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

From the small blind, Tudor Gecui had moved all in for 282,000. Remigiusz Wyrzykiewicz was deep in the tank in the big blind as it was a huge decision for almost all of his chips as he had Gecui covered by only a couple of blinds.

After about two minutes of sitting completely motionless, he folded. Gecui immediately let out a big exhale of relief and tabled the {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the bluff and started to stack his chips as Wyrzykiewicz simply smiled and acknowledged the good bluff.

While stacking in the very next hand he called the all in from Vincenc Gonzales. Gecui's {a-}{j-} would hold vs the {k-}{q-} of Gonzales to eliminate him and add another portion of chips to his stack which is now one of the largest in the room.

Duco Ten Haven raised to 20,000 from the hijack and was called by Lucas Seire in the cutoff and PokerStars TeamPro Ambassador Andre Akkari in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and action checked to Seire who bet 20,000. Akkari moved all in for 100,000. Ten Haven quickly moved all in over the top for more and Seire quickly folded.

Andre Akkari: {4-Spades}{3-Spades}
Duco Ten Haven: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Akkari had an open-end-straight-draw while Ten Haven had an overpair. However Akkari got there on the turn as it came the {2-Clubs}. Akkari held as the river came the {8-Hearts} to give him the double up.

Rheem Doubles Through Rezaei

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

Chino Rheem was in a heads-up pot against Daniel Rezaei on a board of {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} with over 200,000 already in the middle.

Almost as soon as the dealer peeled the river card, Rheem announced he was all in for 207,000. Rezaei took a moment and called.

Rheem rolled over {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for rivered trips and Rezaei let out a laugh of disgust before showing {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a turned pair of nines

"I was good on the flop," Rheem remarked.

Action was picked up on a flop reading {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Into a pot of about 185,000, Chino Rheem bet 90,000 from the cutoff. Adrian State clicked it back from the hijack to 180,000. Rheem called.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} to bring a second heart. State led-jammed and Rheem snap-called.

Rheem had the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair and the nut flush draw while State had the lead with top pair, {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. The river was a blank {4-Clubs} and the dealer counted down the stacks to confirm that Rheem was slightly covered and eliminated.

An Orbit With Jacobson

Nível 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

One of the biggest names left standing in the €2,200 Estrellas Poker Tour High Roller with less than a hundred players remaining is 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Martin Jacobson, so PokerNews spent an orbit with the Swede.

Hand #1 (Middle Position): Tristan Forge opened from under the gun and Jacobson folded.

Hand #2 (Early Position): Isidoro Barrena folded as the first player to act and Jacobson followed suit.

Hand #3 (Under the Gun): Jacobson was first to act and he folded before grabbing a cub of water from the nearby water cooler.

Hand #4 (Big Blind): Forge open-jammed on the button and Barrena re-jammed in the small blind, leading Jacobson to fold.

Hand #5 (Small Blind): Filho Duarte Ferreira raised to 340,000 from the cutoff and Barrena flat-called on the button. Jacobson called from the small blind and Maxime Colom also came along from the big blind.

Jacobson checked on the flop of {10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and folded when Ferreira continued with a bet of 50,000.

Hand #6 (Button): Action folded to Jacobson and he also folded.

Hand #7 (Cutoff): Same as the previous hand, action folded to Jacobson and he also folded.

Hand #8 (Hijack): Ferreira raise to 40,000 from under the gun and Jacobson folded when the action got to him.

Akkari Doubles and Miquel Eliminated

Nível 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
André Akkari
André Akkari

Andras Matrai raised to 40,000 from the hijack before Ramon Miquel three-bet to 125,000 in the cutoff. Action folded around to Andre Akkari who moved all in for 500,000. Matrai folded and Miquel called.

Andre Akkari: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Ramon Miquel: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Akkari had Miquel dominated and only had to fade a nine. There was no drama as the board ran out {k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} to give Akkari the double up.

Miquel was left with 95,000 and shoved the very next hand from the hijack. Filho Duarte Ferreira raised to around 200,000 to his left in the cutoff and everyone else folded.

Ramon Miquel: {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Filho Duarte Ferreira: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

It was a flip but Miquel couldn't win as the flop came king high {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} followed by the turn of the {6-Hearts} and the river of the {q-Hearts} to eliminate the Spaniard from the tournament.

Jacobson Runs Kings Into Aces, Improves to Quads

Nível 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Xavier Mouysset opened to 60,000 in early position and Martin Jacobson three-bet to 180,000 on the button. From the next seat over, Juan Gonzalez Suarez cold four-bet to 600,000 from the small blind, which got a quick fold from Mouysset.

But the Jacobson wasn't going anywhere and the 2014 WSOP Main Event champ five-bet jammed with Suarez covered. The Costa Rican called with a total stack of around 900,000.

Martin Jacobson: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Juan Gonzalez Suarez: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Jacobson was pipped but the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} to give him a commanding lead with a set, prompting a quiet sigh from Suarez. The board then finished out {8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to add insult to injury by improving Jacobson to quads to eliminate Suarez in horrific fashion.

Suarez seemed to be in shock and took a few moments before giving Jacobson a fist-bump and leaving the tournament area.

"Nice hand. Well played!" laughed Andre Akkari.

Orec was behind but had two live cards. The flop came {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} giving Orec some extra outs. The turn was the {9-Spades} but the river came the {4-Spades} to give Orec the double up to Garcia's frustration.
