Romero Overtakes Cakmak

Nível 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
James Romero
James Romero

Play at the final table has slowed down a crawl, with players taking ample time for every decision, especially James Romero. In this hand, it was first Sylvain Mazza who called a 200,000 bet from James Romero on a {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop.

The turn brought the {k-Diamonds} and Mazza checked. Romero tanked long enough to get the clock called on him once more and settled on a bet of 1,300,000 with ten seconds remaining. Mazza needed less time and folded after ten seconds.

With the hand, Romero reclaimed the chip lead from Emrah Cakmak. After the hand, the brush took Romero aside to warn him about excessive time usage.

Cakmak Puts Pressure on Mitsui

Nível 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

After a phase with a few small hands, one hand that took around ten minutes took place but ultimately didn't go past the flop. It was Sam Higgs who made it 230,000 to go in early position. Yota Mitsui three-bet to 700,000 from the hijack, Emrah Cakmak made it 1,300,000 on the button, Higgs folded and Mitsui called after quite some thought.

The flop was {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Mitsui checked. Cakmak took his time before settling on a bet of 1,000,000. This time, it was the Japanese taking his time, and after spending minutes in the tank he opted to lay it down.

Sam Higgs raised to 210,000 from early position, Jack Sinclair three-bet shoved 1,140,000 from middle position, and Higgs decided to call it off after some consideration.

Sam Higgs: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The 2018 WSOPE Main Event champ found himself in a good spot to become a contender at the final table but the poker gods decided otherwise. Higgs spiked a nine during the {j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} runout to send Sinclair to the rail in ninth place.

Quick Four-Bet from Mitsui

Nível 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Despite having drawn chip leader Emrah Cakmak to his left, Yota Mitsui quickly showed he wasn't afraid to let some chips fly. After a raise to 200,000 on the button, Cakmak three-bet to 740,000 from the small blind.

Instantly, Mitsui four-bet a pile of T-100,000 chips and just as quickly, Cakmak folded.
