Heimiller Bets in the Dark

Nível 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Dan Heimiller
Dan Heimiller

Nick Petrangelo raised to 55,000 and it folded around to Dan Heimiller in the big blind. Heimiller cut out a three-bet to 135,000 and Petrangelo called.

Before the flop was dealt, Heimiller instantly shot out a bet of 150,000 in the dark. The dealer fanned {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and action was over to Petrangelo. He sat thinking for well over a minute before he moved forward calling chips. The {3-Clubs} hit the turn and Heimiller checked. Petrangelo knocked the table back and the {5-Diamonds} finished the board. Two more checks occurred and Heimiller flipped up {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for king-high. Petrangelo showed {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for top pair and he was awarded the pot.

"It was in the logo," said Petrangelo, remarking about how Heimiller's dark bet was in the PCA logo on the table. "I didn't see you bet dark."

"Yeah, I got it in before the cards came out," said Heimiller.

"You're a f*cking wizard," quipped back Petrangelo as he stacked his new chips.

On the very next hand, Nick Petrangelo raised to 52,000 and it folded over to Dan Heimiller in the small blind. Heimiller once again cut out a three-bet, this time making it 140,000 to go. Petrangelo once again stuck around.

"One-sixty," said Heimiller, making another dark bet as soon as Petrangelo's chips were dragged into the pot.

The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Heimiller's 160,000 was already placed in the center of the table. Petrangelo called to see a turn.

The {2-Diamonds} paired the board on fourth street and Heimiller fired out a bet of 275,00. Petrangelo announced an all in raise for about 665,000 total and Heimiller instantly threw his hands to his head and leaned back in his seat. He let out a groan and flicked his cards at the muck.

Petrangelo quietly showed the {10-Hearts} and took down the pot. He now has about 1.56 million in chips while Heimiller has dropped to 1.18 million.

Dan Heimiller raised to 65,000 from the cutoff, Bryn Kenney three-bet shoved for about 523,000 on the button and Joe Kuether four-bet shoved for about 1.18 million from the big blind. Heimiller folded.

Kuether: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, giving Kenney top pair. However, Kuether flopped a set of eights. The {6-Spades} turn left Kenney drawing dead, rendering the {4-Clubs} river moot.

Jean-Pascal Savard hails from Quebec, Canada. Leading up to the $25,000 High Roller, Savard's live tournament cashes amounted to just $61,857. This means that regardless of his finish today, Savard is guaranteed to more than double his earnings dating back to the summer of 2013.

Oleksii Khoroshenin is a Ukrainian professional poker player and the EPT 10 Vienna Main Event champion. For his victory in Vienna he pocketed €578,392 ($795,462). Over the course of his live career, he's earned $1,151,193 in tournament winnings.

Dan Heimiller is a 52-year-old professional poker player who hails from Las Vegas, Nevada. Heimiller's largest claim to fame came in 2014 when he rose to the top of the largest Senior's event in history (4,425 runners) to claim his second bracelet and $627,462 in prize money.

Lee Markholt is a professional poker player from Eatonville, Washington. He has live cashes dating back to 1990, has earned $3,871,915 in live tournament winnings, and holds a WPT title.

Nick Petrangelo is an American poker player from Feeding Hills, MA. Petrangelo has earned over $457,000 in live tournaments and looks to add even more to that number by kicking 2015 off in excellent fashion. Mere days ago, Petrangelo won a PCA side event - $4,850 #9 No Limit Hold'em - Turbo 8 Handed - for over $113,000.

Scott Seiver is an established presence in the poker world, frequently playing the highest buy-in tournaments available. A winner of both a WSOP bracelet and a WPT title, Seiver has amassed over $13,400,000 in live tournament winnings. Seiver's largest score came during the 2013 PCA when he won the $100,000 Super High Roller for just over $2 million.

Joe Kuether, a resident of Elm Grove, Wisconsin, is a regular presence on the poker circuit. He has over $2.6 million in live career earnings to his name with titles including a WSOP Circuit Main Event ring.

Faraz Jaka, 29, is an American professional poker player and best known for winning WPT Player of the Year during Season 8. He's earned over $4.3 million in live winnings and looks to eclipse that number with a high finish today.

Ilkin Garibli hails from Azerbaijan. Not much else is known about him, as this is his first recorded live tournament cash .

Dan Heimiller - 8th Place

From the cutoff seat, Nick Petrangelo raised to 100,000. Dan Heimiller flat-called from the small blind, and then Faraz Jaka reraised to 340,000 from the big blind. After Petrangelo folded, Heimiller quickly moved all in for 570,000. Jaka called with the {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and saw he was up against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for Heimiller.

The flop gave Jaka trips when the {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} fell. The turn was the {4-Hearts} to leave Heimiller needing a king on the river, but he wouldn't find it when the {3-Hearts} completed the board.

With that, Heimiller was eliminated in eighth place for $162,700. Jaka climbed to 2.1 million in chips.

Seiver Doubles on Last Hand Before Break

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Scott Seiver raised to 130,000 from the button and it folded over to Ilkin Garibli in the big blind. Garibli three-bet the action to 280,000, putting the decision back to Seiver. After about 30 seconds, Seiver announced all in for 1.625 million total and Garibli instantly called.

Seiver: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Garibli: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Seiver was behind heading to the flop and in dire need of help to stay alive. Fortunately for Seiver, everything turned around after the dealer fanned a {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} flop. Seiver flopped top set and was suddenly in a great position to double. Garibil found no help on the turn ({4-Clubs}) or the river ({5-Clubs}) and Seiver secured a double heading into break. Full chip counts will be posted momentarily.
