O'Dwyer Can't Beat Andreev

Nível 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #54: Max Altergott completed the blind, and Andrey Andreev checked. Altergott bet 40,000 on the {4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and Andreev mucked.

Had #55: Andreev's turn to complete, and Steve O'Dwyer checked. Andreev check-folded the {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Hand #56: Dario Sammartino moved in from the hijack for 512,000 and won the pot.

Hand #57: Charlie Carrel raised to 80,000 under the gun, and Jeremy Ausmus called in the big blind. Ausmus check-folded the {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop.

Hand #58: Andreev raised to 120,000 in middle position, and O'Dwyer called. Andreev checked the {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop, and O'Dwyer bet 140,000. Andreev quickly called, and both checked the {7-Hearts}. Andreev bet 225,000 on the {10-Hearts} river.

"Set of tens?" O'Dwyer asked. He thought awhile, saying aloud hands he was considering Andreev might have. "I don't expect you to answer me," he added.

Finally, he mucked {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} face-up.

"Nice fold," Andreev said.

Dan Smith Eliminated in 8th Place (€137,400)

Nível 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Smith - 8th Place
Dan Smith - 8th Place

Hand #49: Dario Sammartino raised to 85,000 from middle position only to have Steve O'Dwyer three-bet all in from the button. Sammartino, who had about 650,00 back, folded his hand.

Hand #50: Andrey Andreev raised to 80,000 from the hijack, O'Dwyer called from the cutoff, and then both players checked the {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop. Andreev proceeded to bet 100,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn and O'Dwyer folded.

Hand #51: O'Dwyer raised to 95,000 from the hijack and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #52: Jeremy Ausmus raised to 80,000 from the button, Sammartino called from the big, and it was heads-up action to the {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop. Sammartino check-folded to a bet of 75,000.

Hand #53: A short-stacked Dan Smith, who was so ill last night he went to the hospital after play to get some fluids and antibiotics, shoved all in from middle position for 505,000 and Charlie Carrel looked him up from the button.

Carrel: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Smith: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

It was a flip, and while the {9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop didn't hit Carrel directly, it gave him a lot of outs to win the pot. The {A-Hearts} turn was one of them, and suddenly Smith needed one of the two remaining deuces to stay alive. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {8-Clubs}. Smith missed and became the first player eliminated from the final table after 53 hands of play.

Derwiche Doubles Through Carrel

Nível 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Imad Derwiche
Imad Derwiche

Hand #46: Dan Smith raised to 90,000 early, and Dario Sammartino called on the button, as did Andrey Andreev from the big blind. Smith bet 110,000 on the {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, and only Andreev called. Both players checked the {8-Diamonds}, and Andreev bet 100,000 on the {5-Hearts} river.

"Got anything?" Smith asked after some thought. Andreev didn't respond.

Moments later, Smith called, and Andreev showed {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} to take it with a straight.

Hand #47: Smith shoved all in from under the gun and took the pot.

Hand #48: Imad Derwiche raised to 100,000 under the gun, and Charlie Carrel three-bet to 210,000 in middle position. Derwiche called, and {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flopped, prompting him to shove all in for 292,000.

"What do you want me to do, sir?" Carrel asked.

Derwiche made a lip-zipping motion and pointed at the board. Carrel decided to call with {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}. He was ahead, as Carrel had {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for an open-ender and an overcard. The {7-Diamonds} changed nothing, but an {a-Spades} river filled his straight draw.

"Yes!" he yelled. "Back in business."

Hand #42: Charlie Carrel raised to 80,000 under the fun, Imad Derwiche called from the small blind, and Jeremy Ausmus came along from the big to make it three-way action to the {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. Derwiche led out for 100,000 and both his opponents folded.

Hand #43: Steve O'Dwyer moved al in from the hijack for right around 615,000 and won the pot.

Hand #44: Andrey Andreev raised to 80,000 from early position and Dario Sammartino called from the big blind. The latter then check-folded to a bet of 100,000 on the {j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop.

PokerStars SCOOP Returns May 10 With $40 Million in Guaranteed Prizes

Nível 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Online poker players from around the world are gearing up for the 2015 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) starting this Sunday on PokerStars.

The annual poker festival takes place from May 10-24, featuring 46 events types - or 138 events in total - broken out into low, medium, and high buy-ins with a mouth-watering $40 million in guaranteed prize pools.

Every day during the 15-day poker festival features three different events types, with the first-day featuring four different events. The series kicks off on May 10 at 8:00 am ET with SCOOP-01-L: $11 NL Hold'em featuring a $75,000 guarantee, SCOOP-01-M: $109 NL Hold'em [Sunday Kickoff SE] with a $150,000 guarantee, and SCOOP-01-H: $1,050 NL Hold'em with a $300,000 guarantee.

The series caters to both low-limit and high-limit players with event buy-ins ranging from $7.50 to $21,000, with each event featuring a big guaranteed prize pool.

While most of the events are in no-limit hold'em, the schedule also features just about every poker variant PokerStars offers including limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha, H.O.R.S.E., eight-game, 2-7 single draw, and badugi. Additionally, there are many different formats on the schedule including freezeout, turbo, heads-up, knockouts, rebuys, shootouts, and Zoom poker.

The highlight of the SCOOP are the three Main Events taking place on May 24 at 2:30 pm ET. The low SCOOP Main Event features a $1 million guaranteed prize pool for a $109 buy-in, the medium Main Event features a $2 million guaranteed prize pool for a $1,050 buy-in, and the high Main Event features a $4 million guaranteed prize pool for a $10,300 buy-in.

Russia's Ivan "vandir4rek" Soshnikov won last year's $10,300 SCOOP Main Event, beating out 657-players to win $1,048,000 as part of a three-way deal.

Players have a chance to qualify into all the SCOOP events cheaper via satellites running around the clock on PokerStars. Satellites start at just $0.11 or one FPP giving many poker players a chance to play in this year's SCOOP.

O'Dwyer Loses Two Pots

Nível 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #36: Imad Derwiche raised to 110,000 in the cutoff and won the pot.

Hand #37: Andrey Andreev raised to 125,000 under the gun, and Steve O'Dwyer called from his left. Andreev checked the {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop, and O'Dwyer bet 150,000. Andreev called, and both players checked the {3-Spades} and {6-Hearts}.

Andreev showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}, and a frustrated O'Dwyer flipped {9-}{9-} into the middle.

Hand #38: Charlie Carrel raised to 80,000 in the cutoff and won the pot.

Hand #39: Carrel opened for 80,000 again, and Andreev wanted to play. Both checked the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and Andreev bet 125,000 on the {4-Diamonds}. Carrel called, and an {a-Clubs} arrived. Andreev checked, and Carrel bet 200,000. Andreev folded fairly quickly.

Hand #40: Jeremy Ausmus raised to 90,000 early, and O'Dwyer called. Ausmus won with a bet of 60,000 on the {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop.

"I Thought for Sure I Had the Best Hand

Nível 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #33: Dario Sammartino raised to 66,000 from middle position and Steve O'Dwyer called from the button. When the flop came down {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, Sammartino check-called a bet of 80,000 and then both players checked the {9-Hearts} turn. The {10-Hearts} river put a straight on the board, and Sammartino led out for 225,000. It did the trick as O'Dwyer folded.

Hand #34: O'Dwyer raised to 75,000 from the cutoff and won the pot.

Hand #35: Andrey Andreev opened for 60,000 from middle position and O'Dwyer called from the hijack. The rest of the players folded and the flop came down {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Andreev check-called a bet of 55,000, and then check-called one of 135,000 on the {J-Clubs} turn.

When the {3-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Andreev checked for a third time and O'Dwyer bet 240,000. Andreev then woke up with a check-raise to 500,000, and O'Dwyer hit the tank.

"I thought for sure I had the best hand" O'Dwyer admitted, eventually calling after a couple more minutes passed.

Andreev tabled the {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for trips, and it was good as O'Dwyer mucked.
