Quoss Doubles at the Feature Table

Nível 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Fabian Quoss
Fabian Quoss

We missed how the action unfolded, but we do know that Fabian Quoss got his stack of 163,000 all in from the button and was at risk against Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer, who was in the big blind.

Quoss: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Danzer: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Quoss was looking to dodge an ace, hearts, and any other tomfoolery, which is just what he did after the board ran out a safe {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Ship the double to Quoss.

Bye Bye Bonomo

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

After Piotr Franczak opened with a raise, it appeared Justin Bonomo three-bet jammed for right around 165,000 from the big blind. Franczak made the call and the two found themselves in a coinflip situation.

Franczak: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Bonomo: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Bonomo was looking for paint, but the {3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop came up empty. The {8-Diamonds} turn was no help to Bonomo, and neither was the {10-Hearts} river, which actually improved Franczak to a straight. With that, Bonomo took his leave from the tournament.

Meanwhile, both Isaac Lo and Tony Gregg have been eliminated from the tournament.

Three-Bet, Four-Bet, Five-Bet, Call!

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

From the cutoff seat, Igor Kurganov opened to 12,000. His next-door neighbor, Thomas Muehloecker, three-bet to 43,000 from the button. In the small blind was Talal Shakerchi, and he cold four-bet to 106,000 before Max Altergott quickly got out of the way from the big blind. Kurganov thought for some time before he also folded.

Muehloecker shoved all in with the five-bet, and Shakerchi called.

Both players had ace-king. Muehloecker had a slight edge with his {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and the board began to run out {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, as Shakerchi showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. The {2-Spades} on the river was a blank, though, and the two chopped the pot.

The €100,000 Super High Roller at the 2015 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final is well underway after a record-breaking Day 1 took place on Thursday that saw the field size reach all-time heights. One of the players in field the field was King's Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik, who is certainly no stranger to high-stakes action of all kinds.

Tsoukernik first played the event in 2012. After busting his first entry that year, Tsoukernik famously paid for his second €100,000 bullet by heading to the craps table to win €70,000, then jumping to roulette to win another €50,000. In this year's event, Tsoukernik once again sought out action to win another €100,000 to fire after being eliminated on his first try, but this time he chose poker.

After busting, Tsoukernik found Dan "Jungleman" Cates and asked him to play a €500/€1,000 heads-up match for €100,000. Cates agreed, and after 30 minutes Tsoukernik won the match and had a second €100,000 buy-in, which he promptly used to reenter the Super High Roller.

During Day 1 play, PokerNews' Remko Rinkema caught up with Tsoukernik to discuss more about it. Check out the video:

Short Tournament for Antonio Esfandiari

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Antonio Esfandiari was busy filming an episode of Shark Cage yesterday and didn't enter the event until today. He bought in this morning, but the 250,000 in chips he got in exchange for his €100,000 buy-in didn't last him very long.

With the blinds starting at 3,000/6,000, Esfandiari got 41 big blinds to start the day. He lost a chunk of that in one of the first hands of the day, and Tobias Reinkemeier was kind enough to supply us with some details.

According to Reinkemeier, Besim Hot opened the button and Esfandiari three-bet from the big blind. Hot made the call, and the flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-}. Esfandiari and Hot got their chips in the middle, with Hot at risk holding the {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Esfandiari had {A-}{K-} and was defeated when Hot made his flush.

With just a few chips left, Esfandiari got them in the next hand with {Q-}{8-} from the small blind. The big blind had {K-}{4-}, made the call, and saw his hand hold up.

Urbanovich Already Over 700K

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Dzmitry Urbanovich
Dzmitry Urbanovich

Dzmitry Urbanovich bought in before the start of Day 2, but he didn't compete in Day 1's action. Even still, he's already amassed a stack of over 700,000, thanks large in part to a big call his just made for his tournament life against a former champion of this event, Justin Bonomo.

After Urbanovich and Bonomo both checked the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs} board, the {10-Spades} completed the board on the river. Urbanovich bet 62,000, and Bonomo raised all in. Urbanovich went deep into the tank with 258,000 behind. Eventually, but not before about five solid minutes passed, he called. Bonomo turned over the {A-Spades}{6-Spades} for two pair, sixes and threes. Urbanovich had that beat, though, and tabled the {K-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a better two pair.

Bonomo gave a quick shake of his head in surprise of Urbanovich's call, sent over the chips, and was left with 141,000.

With 80,000 in the middle on the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board, Mohsin Charania checked to Erik Seidel. Seidel fired a bet of 47,000, and Charania responded with an all-in shove for 220,000. Seidel folded, and Charania picked up the pot.
